"Overall, our stay was good. We stayed on a cold and damp Easter weekend (arrived April 3rd and left April 6th) so I wanted to start a fire in the fireplace, but notice the fireplace was filled with ashes and had to remove those ashes before starting our fire. The fireplace had a glass door on the front of it, but the glass was severely blacked from many uses and once the door was closed, you could not see the fire. I tried to clean the black soot of the glass, but it would not come off. The owner does provide firewood, but it is very old and rotten. The owner does have good firewood but that is locked up for emergency use, in case they have a power outage and the wood is needed for heat. Other than the fireplace, the rest of the home was clean when we arrived.I love to cook, so we ate in for most of our meals. I would suggest to the owners to update their cookware, the cooking pans are old and handles are cracked.The master bedroom is very comfortable with a large bed, TV and fireplace. This home is located in a beautiful area...peaceful and quiet. Was it worth the 900 we spent for 3 nights...maybe not."

"The Big House was exactly what our group needed for the weekend. Everyone we met at Elk Creek was super friendly and welcoming. The area is beautiful and there are lots of great outdoor spots nearby. The site is truly pet friendly. Don’t hesitate to book your stay. "

So comfortable, the beds are amazingly comfy and lots of extra blankets if you need them. You feel like you are remote but the cute little town is only 2 minutes away with grocery store, shops and restaurants, even a nice coffee shop! Thank you Kathy for being the host with the most!! We will see you again!"

"Beautiful house with great views and lots of windows in a really nice remote area. There's limited cell service so it's a great spot for a disconnecting get away. "

"When I went to check in there was no one there. I called and no one answered. By the time they had called me back I had already had to find another place to stay. Would not recommend to anyone."
