"I chose this place because I wanted to check out Torrey Pines Nature Reserve. It’s not like right on the beach, you’ll need transportation or take an Uber, but it was a convenient short drive under the freeway to get there. And I can’t say enough about Torrey Pines. Loved all the trails especially the “Beach Trail” and “Razor Point”. It was also a short enough drive to get back to the general San Diego area. I also liked that check out was at 12, the pool was heated so we still were able to use it in April and the staff was very friendly. The location seems like there is not much around but if you search grocery stores like I did, Ralph’s comes up a couple miles away and I was pleasantly surprised to see a whole fancy strip mall type set up just down the road with several stores and dining. It was convenient that you can eat there if you like. We only did breakfast. I like my free food so at least a complimentary breakfast option would have made things better but it wasn’t outrageously priced. Parking was fair for $25 a day considering some places charge more. Overall I was pleased with my pick. I also appreciated that they gave me Hilton Honors points even though I booked through Expedia."

"The hotel was wonderful about accommodating our early check-in, which we really appreciated! The staff was incredibly nice and always ready to help. The vintage elevator has lots of character—just takes a moment to get the hang of it. The rooms are on the smaller side but were spotless and beautifully decorated, making them feel very cozy. The location couldn’t be better; it felt like everything we wanted to see was just a short walk away. While the area around the hotel can feel a little sketchy at times, that’s pretty typical for a downtown setting. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely come back!"
