"For some unknown reason this place was already rated "excellent" whereas there was no previous reviews. So I felt a little bit manipulated as this place without being bad was way overrated. Although the place is generally clean, it nis not maintained properly. Some stuffs need some fixing. The room I stayed in for almost 10 days had suffered water leakage in the wall which resulted in traces on the wall which has not been redone or even painted. "It was literally the best location ever. Not only was it the cheapest accommodation in the area, it was also walking distance to every attraction and tour centers. Every single one of the tours you book will most likely have pick up in Getsemani centro which is a 12 min walk away from the hostel. You are also 14 min walking distance away from the ocean (has rough waves at this sight so I would not recommend swimming in it). "The room was clean and well appointed but just a little bit musty when we entered. I loved the location of this hotel it was near to everything no need for cabs. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was just meh, the menu could be more varied especially breakfast. We loved the rooftop restaurant for the view and atmosphere. I would stay there again but just eat out more. "

"The room, the food, the staff all very good!! Great location and a lot of great restaurants around. The local beach wasn’t great but an easy day trip to an island near by was AMAZING!! Don’t walk in certain areas as someone tried to steal my necklace but I made sure he didn’t get it. Onto the right outside the hotel and you’re fine. Don’t go left!!"

"Overall great stay. Location is wonderful and the building is a super cool older colonial era house. Staff was very helpful and the building felt very secure. I arrived early and departed late, but was able to store my luggage in their locked storage closet. There was one odd moment though where the maid called me back into my room to give me an in-person scolding for having some spotting during the night. So light that I didn't even notice it until she pointed out the evidence on the sheet. I get that it's annoying but if you are in the hotel business, I imagine you encounter evidence of menstruation here and there. This was so mild the reaction seemed overblown. But, this was one minor issue during an otherwise very pleasant stay. "
