"Stay in main hotel was amazing. Only issue was no control over room temp. It was too hot to sleep and due to major black fly populations were unable to open window due to lack of screens. A fan and screens would cover that. Other than that, the location and amenities were perfect. But due to 2 nights of no sleep I would give it a 4 out of 5."

"This particular Microtel was clean, comfortable, and convenient and the hotel staff was very friendly and accessible. We would stay here again when in the area. . Definitely recommend keeping the second lock on the door at all times because despite the "do not disturb" sign hanging on the knob, housekeeping let themselves in without knocking. Never had that happen before. "

"This is a wondeful 130-year-old hotel right on 4th Lake. Everything is within walking distance and the Laughing Loon is a good place to have a meal, a snack, and/or a drink. If there is a negative, it's the stairs - if you cannot do stairs, then this may not be the place for you."

"Clean, comfortable, peaceful place to step away and unwind. Chris is the best kind of host; all needs are addressed promptly and efficiently, he is not intrusive in the least but always available, and has thought of everything at the cabin to make it an easy, effortless stay. The surroundings are peaceful: river, woodchucks, birds, and foxes lend themselves to an enchanting atmosphere but never come too close to bother. Passing trains and churchbells are a thing, but again, add to the unique charm of the place. Looking forward to next time. Oh, and the plane on the roof of the building is icing on the cake!"
