Pekin Vacation Packages

The bar and attached restaurant was incredible, but the staff supporting the hotel was somewhat rude and condescending. Our expectation was to be able to use the hotel bar and restaurant and one of the prime reasons to book this hotel knowing we would have an all day layover. Even though we were able to use the bar/restaurant or first night, during our remining stay we were not able to as they were closed? We asked was it due to Columbus Day and we were rudely told "no it was for indigenous people day"......Monday and Tuesday that week, so two full days. That was terribly political and frankly we just did not understand. It was not noted in the reservation that ALL the restaurants would be closing for "indigenous people day" and we found that odd expecting some food or breakfast as advertised! There was no notice in the lobby or mentioned to us at checking, just a condescending comment when we asked. No apology or alternative. The only option we had was a limited coffee shop with stale products. The rooms were OK, but stained carpeting and walls were obvious. I was stuck in the hotel all day with layover and no food or drink available.......except for a convenience store next door. Might consider keeping a political tone out of hospitality and note any closings or shortcomings before a reservation is booked. Incredible bar and bartender, food was very good too if for just the one night.

The front reception staff was so warm and welcoming each time we entered the hotel.

We had a wonderful weekend stay at this house! Clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The location was perfect—peacefully tucked near the mountains while still being just 5 minutes from town, making it easy to enjoy both nature and local shops and restaurants.
