Never stayed in a shared room before. The staff were very friendly and so were the other travellers. The room was clean but staying in a shared room with strangers could be quiet difficult as people can be easily disturbed.
We were able to check in early and store our bags. Reception friendly. Rooms not very soundproof, easy to hear conversations from next door unit. Kitchens very basic. Convenience for getting to tennis our reason for choosing to stay here.
Nice quiet area but within minutes of so much. Lovely owners who know how to treat people. I stayed in an economy single and that was my choice. I don't go on holiday to spend all my time in a hotel. It had what was needed and the sheets were good quality and clean. There wasn't a hairdryer in the room but when I asked to borrow one, I got it immediately. I would not hesitate to stay again. Oh, and the breakfast was lovely. Plenty to keep you going.
Known as Auckland's oldest suburb, Parnell has become the upscale village shopping spot highlighting restaurants, cafés, bars, art galleries, boutiques, and jewelers. Stroll through Dove-Myer Robinson Park's rose garden or pick up produce from one of the multiple farmers markets. History buffs can check out the Auckland War Memorial Museum, New Zealand's first museum.
