Western Slope suites
8/10 Good
"The room was pretty good. It had a small kitchen with just the essentials for using the stove. I booked this place for the view of the mountains, that was the best part. The "clean" dish towels smelled like they left the load in the washer and didn't put them in the dryer until the next day. Wasn't good. The air conditioner was set at 60 (which we love)when we walked in but felt like it was 70 in the room. It was blowing cool air but barely. I took the filter out and it hadn't been vaccinated out in months. I cleaned it as best as I could but still didn't get colder. We didn't bother telling the front desk because we had already settled in after a long day of driving and didn't want to move to another room. The breakfast was a joke. The corner of a wall sat a square table and that's what held breakfast, which was coffee and bagels. Very disappointed. Bed and pillows were very comfortable though. Overall, like I said, the view was the best."

"The rooms were clean which, to me, is most important. One shower ran slow and the grout in one floor needed to be redone. Generally, nice and i would recommend it to others"

"Andrew at the front desk was wonderful! We are elderly (84) and he kept a parking spot right by our door available for us. He also got as an extra chair for the room. There was a very good complementary breakfast with hot food (eggs, potatoes, sausage), a waffle maker and much more. Larry"
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Silt-Rifle by IHG

"This hotel met the Holiday Inn Express standard, and I like staying at these hotels for the breakfast. The person who checked me in was very kind and helpful. The hotel in Silt is not in an area where there are easy restaurants to access, but the gas station/truck stop nearby had a decent selection of sandwiches/lunch boxes and salads to eat when I arrived there mid-evening. The bathroom had an unusually high ceiling (first floor room), which was different. At the time I stayed there was a notice on the doors that bears had been sighted recently, but I did not see any in the area the night that I stayed. All in all a comfortable stay."

"Every staff member we encountered was very friendly and helpful, especially the young lady on the evening shift Friday night and Sat. Also, we had a problem with our reservation ( my fault) and the staff was very helpful and kind and took care of everything. The breakfasts both days were the best I have found at hotels. Good quality food and variety, and the staff kept everything replenished. If I ever get back to Rifle, I would definitely stay there! My only concern was the bed pillows which were small and felt like a bag of rags."

"The Sheep Shed was so enjoyable. The bed was comfortable, all the comforts of home but you are in a wonderful area with a pond full of koi. We had visits from mama deer and her fawn every day. We caught a glimpse of the big buck at night because he posed right in front of the outside light! The kitchen is fully stocked. So nice to have plenty of fresh clean water in each room. Highly recommend and hope to come back. Being so close to all the trails on the Grand Mesa was wonderful."
