![A short walk up on a paved path will lead you to this Monument in Santa Fe, NM.  There are great views of the Sangre de Cristos and the City of Santa Fe from this vantage point.  Great for sunrise or sunset shots.  The walk is only about 10-15 minutes.  :)  

History: The monument of the Cross of the Martyrs was built to honor the Franciscan friars who died during the Pueblo Revolt in 1680.  There has been controversy over this because there is no monument dedicated to the Natives that were slaughtered in the battle.

« We can't say enough good things about this B&B. The staff was super friendly and helpful and the rooms were cozy and quaint. Fireplace use is amazing and the rooms were very large. ![A short walk up on a paved path will lead you to this Monument in Santa Fe, NM.  There are great views of the Sangre de Cristos and the City of Santa Fe from this vantage point.  Great for sunrise or sunset shots.  The walk is only about 10-15 minutes.  :)  

History: The monument of the Cross of the Martyrs was built to honor the Franciscan friars who died during the Pueblo Revolt in 1680.  There has been controversy over this because there is no monument dedicated to the Natives that were slaughtered in the battle.
