***BEWARE***We recently stayed at the Historic Streetcar Inn New Orleans while spending a couple days in New Orleans waiting to depart on a Cruise for our daughters Wedding. Now I “get” the New Orleans “Historic Charm” but was beyond that! Just plain dirty. Our first room had some sort of something splashed all over the walls and not even cleaned up. Coffee? Soda? etc. Gross. The tub was so dirty it looked like something you would see in a junk yard being thrown out. When we complained to the front desk Angie changed us til a different room. Ok! Great!...Not so much! Room was a bit more comfortable and to our liking. Didn’t even mind that it took is 15 to figure out how to fix/get the tv to work. Front Desk...no help. Still ok! At least until we wanted to take a HOT shower. No hot water in the shower at all! On our way out that morning we stopped by the Front Desk around 11:00 am to see what they had to say. After we woke up the Attendant (yes, he was sound asleep on the desk) he said he would check with Management and see what they would do. Upon Check Out the next day after another day with no hot water we were informed that there would be no further action taken since we were already given a free upgrade! WE WERE GIVEN A FREE UPGRADE because the first room was filthy. When I asked him why we were expected to settle for a Free Upgrade and then be satisfied with no hot water his response was “You should have read the reviews!” Running out of room for review...

Not what I expected
The ceiling fan would not work. It’s so enticing and then so extremely disappointing when you cannot get it to work. I tried both the chain being pulled and the switch on the wall next to the door. Bathroom windowsill incredibly dirty. Bathroom floor tons of cracks in the floor and dirty on all of the edges of the bathroom. The shelves above the toilet were crazy full of dust. And I mean really a lot especially up at the top. Parts of the wooden floor in the room between the chair in the wall were really dirty. Another really dirty thing in the same exact area top of black rectangular box with little green light that connects the TV to the electric outlet. Nightstands clean on the very top only. Extremely dusty below the very top. The black metal decoration on the wall above head of bed dirty dusty except in the areas where its extremely easy to dust. Look like a five-year-old probably just did it. The wooden baseboards in the bathroom were filthy. It chicken not one word was said by the very irritable and rude woman behind the desk about the snack machine or the soda machine or ice machine or water or that there are two common rooms one inside and one outside. She never said one word except for can I have your license She seem to be in a horrible mood. She has two very long braids in the back. There was no ice bucket in the room I had to go find the maid and get one. Lastly, an hour before checkout There was a gigantic roach crawling around bathroom floor, Windowsill

I understand the pricing is extremely cheap, so I was not expecting anything crazy... but the place was filthy. Sheets were not clean, bathroom was filthy, coffee mug rings on the dressers, the room simply had not been cleaned.
