The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, and the peaceful atmosphere was remarkable — apart from breakfast and the drum performance, we barely saw another guest. It genuinely felt like stepping back in time. We stayed as an LGBT couple and felt completely comfortable throughout our stay. Our room was huge, with traditional flooring and views of Mount Fuji, which we also enjoyed from the rooftop onsen. The onsen experience was a highlight. As visitors from the UK it was completely new to us, but we embraced it and loved it. The traditional meal was also a wonderful experience; my partner does not eat fish and the hotel accommodated this after we contacted them in advance. The menu is fixed, so picky eaters may wish to bring snacks. You dine in a private dining room. Beautiful gardens, exceptional hospitality and a unique sense of calm made this an unforgettable stay"

"This was a good hotel for me and my family. Location was good and they had a free shuttle back to the center of town and bus station. I really appreciated the washing machines and that the front desk staff spoke passable English. I really don't like the self check in machines the hotels use in Japan and this hotel was no exception. I can't speak to the breakfast since we left too early in the morning to enjoy it. Overall it was a good stay and very affordable, especially since I needed 4 rooms."
