"Check-in was quick and efficient. We had 4 rooms for a group of 10\. The wine lounge (included as our package) was a great way to hang around with variety of wines, snacks, ice cream, etc. We missed the tea house as we were there at 4p and spent time to settle and picked our yukata before closing at 6pm. Dinner was good even though we didn’t have the wagyu package. Buffet breakfast has a lot of variety. The bed or futons were comfortable. In a nutshell the the place very nice, just too pricy. Would be nice if we can stay for another night to enjoy everything there."

"This is an amazing little hidden gem! We will absolutely be back on our next trip to Fujikawaguchiko. Yes, the hotel is showing its age a little, and I mean only a little, but you’re there for a classic ryokan so it’s part of the experience. The staff are amazing and the hotel has fantastic amenities. They provide a shuttle to and from Kawaguchiko Station, public and private onsen baths, and an amazing view of Fuji-san from the rooftop deck. On top of that, the kaseki dinner and breakfast are spectacular. The food is excellent, plus we were served in our own private room within the restaurant, with a lovely view of the lake. We can’t say enough good things about this hotel! I’ve honestly never left a hotel review before and probably never will again, but this place is worth it. Hoping this draws attention to this hidden gem, to keep it running until we’re able to come back. Too many places like this are bought up by big hotel chains and lose their charm. Arigato gozaimasu, Lakeland Hotel Mizunosato!!!"

"Don’t stay here! They should be taken off Hotels.com! So dirty and gross, and over priced. Bugs everywhere… beds uncomfortable, pillow flat. I say pillow cuz that is all there was.
