They go above and beyond to make sure you have everything that you need and are so friendly and charismatic. We had a lovely stay at Shoji Lake Hotel. The facilities are ‘older’, very traditional Japanese hotel which made our stay a very homey experience. The onsen was wonderful, the indoor onsen was definitely a lot older, but the outdoor onsen was newly renovated and so nice. The rooms have a great view of Mt. Fuji. She was a bit shy during our short stay but we did manage to get a glimpse of her from our room. This place does not have an elevator but staff will carry your bags to your room for you. The standout here is the staff who were so friendly and welcoming compared to the bigger fancy hotels. It is always impressive when the owner of a hotel takes the time to come out and greet you personally on your arrival. The friendly staff, the amazing view (if you are lucky) and traditional Japanese room experience made this a memorable stay. I wish I was able to stay longer.
