"Hotel Hanabun was a great ryokan experience! It is nestled in the mountains offering a peaceful getaway from touristy/crowded areas. It had the best onsen water, even the locals went there to bathe! The hosts and staff are all friendly and accommodating to your needs. Google translate was necessary to communicate, but everyone is very patient. The food was incredibly delicious, and they use locally sourced, fresh ingredients. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy ryokan. "

"A very comfortable stay for us on a road trip. The property is located in the mountains, about 30-45 minutes to the coastline where all the actions are. Rooms were very clean and spacious. We had rooms that overlook the ski lifts. We went during the quiet season so there was limited dining options. "I knew I wanted to snowboard at Lotte Arai Resort but I read that it was in a very small town and basically only the resort buildings so i picked this spot because they offered a free shuttle to the nearby mountains.
