We came back because we had a good experience the first time. The restaurant serves cozy, good food. Many stars visible. Comfortable room. Definitely worth the side trip on the perfectly-fine graded dirt road. We stayed on a Thursday, when the restaurant only offers a single dinner entree, but for only $10 we had no complaints. Breakfast in the morning was self-serve continental and adequate. Very friendly staff. The themed rooms were so fun, and it was very cozy and clean. There was a dirt road leading up the lodge which I didn't think was bad to drive on at all (we went in early September, though, so there was no snow). It was fun to see deer and elk on the road to the lodge. Wished we could have stayed more than a night to take in the area. Customer service was amazing as was the food in their own restaurant and bar. I'd say the only issue is the walls are paper thin and the guests next to us were extraordinarily loud. Just talking, coughing etc. mostly.
