Great location and room. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Loved the cabin that we upgraded to. Nice bare bones stay in the mountains with the town nearby and easily accessible. Will definitely consider staying here again.
We've stayed here a number of times over the years. Friendly staff and clean, quiet rooms. We travel with two dogs and they are very supportive of allowing them. Of course there is a pet fee but worth it. I highly recommend the Salida Inn and Monarch Suites.

Although the building is old and not impressive from the outside, the room was clean and well maintained. Bed was comfortable. The air conditioner was a little noisy and breakfast was no eventful..
A little overpriced for what it offers.
This is just a gem for the price. I had just stayed 4 nights at a 4-star hotel in Santa Fe and this was a lot more comfortable for a third of the price. Good, clean and comfortable in all ways. Convenient. Quick check-in and just a refreshing, simple change---also close to the very cool town of Salida, a very pleasant surprise too and I wish we had had some more time to spend there. Thank you for the nice, peaceful stay.

Love the location which is why we have stayed here several times over the years. Found out that the property had recently changed hands and they are beginning updating the rooms and the site (pool decking currently being repaired while we were there) which is much needed. Wouls like to see a better breakfast selection but this will not keep me from returning again.
We stayed at this hotel over the 4th of July weekend. We are so grateful to have found this place! It was clean, quiet, and very comfortable. Our 2 dogs were welcomed with a low nightly pet fee! The hot tub was amazing. We will definitely be back!
We stayed in the two bedroom lodging and it was wonderful. All basic needs were met. Breakfast was a nice continental breakfast, and the location was great to everything we were doing in Salida.

It was cozy for our family of 7. The pool DOES NOT work. The Suana isn't working properly and the hot tub is questionable. The family cottage was nice. It was clean, the beds were comfy. Coffee, microwave, table and chairs were provided. Nice view from #306. Would stay again.
This a very good place to stay in Salida. It's not right on the river, and it's not luxurious, but it is clean and only a few minutes from the center of town. The staff/management are very friendly and helpful.
This was an excellent place to stay for a number of reasons. It was roomy, clean, and uniquely decorated and included simple accessories that were clearly not like the boiler plate furniture or soap that most hotels have. The staff was particularly accommodating when, unbeknownst to us, our Expedia resrevation was unable to be fulfilled after being confirmed. They found a perfectly adequate alternative so that we did not have to be sent on somewhere else. Expedia refunded us with no issue. Breakfast was particularly nice, different and refreshing with fresh berries, excellent coffee, pastries.
The rooms are very large and accommodating. The staff were friendly and helpful. Other than the boiler breaking down it was a great stay. I’ll definitely be back.
This vintage hotel was clean + well maintained. The room had refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, plush towels, + hair dryer that you would use at home.
Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was good with plenty of fruit (a good thing). Only thing is if get upstairs need to haul your stuff up stairs. Stairs are slip resistant, which does help.
We had a such a great time at the Salida Inn & Monarch Suites. The staff were very friendly & welcoming, in fact they went above & beyond to ensure we were satisfied with our stay. There's a free breakfast in the morning with a nice assortment of snacks & beverages. The property looks slightly rough on the outside, but the suite we enjoyed was one of the most spacious rooms I've experienced and was remodeled/updates. There's sufficient free parking and the hot tub in the rear was a highlight of an amenity. The location was right on the main thoroughfare Hwy 50/Rainbow Blvd. and a short 10 min. or less drive to the downtown Salida restaurants. Overall, for the value and location, highly recommended. We would visit again.
The facilities were as expected. The new upper pools are amazing. However the staff at the front desk (Im sure not all of them) were a little crunchy. Several of them spoke under their breath after talking with me. Most staff were stand offish... The gardening staff was very nice. It felt mostly unfriendly.
