Post Office Ranch Log Cabin - rates subject to change for groups over 2 people
EXTRA-GUEST CHARGE FOR GROUPS OF MORE THAN 2: $20 PER NIGHT, PER-GUEST, FOR EVERY PERSON OVER 2 PEOPLE
This beautiful, spacious log cabin (lovingly called Grizzly Adams) was the second cabin to be built on our 300-acre working cattle ranch for you and your family's enjoyment. The cabin was completed in June of 2012 and has 1500 sq. ft. of usable floor area. Thanks to its size and charm, it was recently used as a location for a major motion picture.
It is equipped with a fully furnished kitchen (large electric range, dishwasher, and refrigerator with an ice maker), three doored bedrooms with Queen beds, a sleeping loft with a full bed (and a couch that makes into a full), two bathrooms (one upstairs and one down), a living room, and two flat screen TVs. The bedrooms offer comfy beds and large walk-in closets.
Outside, there's a large warp-around deck boasting cozy rocking chairs (perfect for drinking in the beautiful, panoramic mountain views). A gas grill, picnic tables, and fire pit are all provided to help make your stay a memorable one. Rates: $225/night for groups of 2, with a $20 extra-guest fee for every guest over 2.

The cabin was extremely spacious and clean. The cabin is in driving distance to so many fun activities. THE VIEW WAS BEAUTIFUL! We absolutely enjoyed our stay and hope to come back again.
Always excited to return to the Post Office Ranch! We have stayed in this cabin for many years. The views are amazing. The cabin is comfortable and well supplied. Communication with the property manager is excellent.
Off the beaten path lodging, yet close to town, with amazing views all around. Beautiful clean and quite cabin with moderen mtn. ranch themed furnishings. Adequate room for several guests.
Mr. Dean is an excellent host! The property is perfect with views out each window! The cabin is emaculate and comfortable!
We will be back! breathtaking
This house and property are beautiful! The house fit us so well and we had everything we needed- even firewood. We enjoyed the view and the comfort of the porch immensely! So nice to be able to walk to the creek.
Dean has a beautifully kept cabin with a front porch for sitting and looking at the mountain range. A few miles from downtown Salida and Monarch ski resort. The cabin is well stocked and sleeps 7 comfortably.
This is the only place we stay. Plenty of room for our trailer to get in and out of. Clean, peaceful, secluded but yet close to town.
Highly recommended from us.
This was our 2nd time renting this property and absolutely love it! Great views, great proximity to town and very quiet. Will return a 3rd time without a doubt
The Past Office Ranch is by far the best place to stay in and around Salida. Beautiful cabin with very comfortable furnishings, and did I mention the scenery? Only 15-20 minutes to Monarch. Great place to stay!
We love the area and looked for a place that would fit our family of 5 comfortably for a quick weekend getaway. It worked perfectly! There were plenty of beds and bathrooms, great views, and of course the overall location was perfect. We would happily stay again!
We love this property. This was our third time staying here, so it feels a little like home. Dean is so courteous and helpful. The views are incredible. We’re so grateful we found this ranch!!⛰️
This cabin was very nice, clean, quiet, fantastic view of the meadow with mountains and the peaceful sound of the brook off the porch.
Well stocked kitchen, great fire pit area, comfy beds, and plenty space to stretch out.
We enjoyed walking down to the river or just sitting in the log rockers on the porch visiting.
Only a few miles to town, and great day trips only an hour away.
Can't wait to go back with the whole family next summer!
Dean was great!! The cabin was comfortable as well. The view was beautiful!! We especially enjoyed the stars at night. The cabin had everything we needed!!! We grilled hamburgers and barbecue chicken and had a fire. We will definitely be back!!
We have been visiting this cabin for many years and will continue to come back. The cabin is clean and has everything you need. Dean is a wonderful host.
Thanks
I visit the area a few times a year and stay all over from Leadville to Salida. This is my new favorite! Absolutely gorgeous views, including the horses and cattle on this working ranch. Perfect cabin layout and great outdoor area. Host was awesome to work with. Can’t wait to visit again.
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Post Office Ranch! Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived and were greeted by the kind host:) We made such incredible memories. My husband and I, along with our 4 daughters, adored the friendly horses, and were blown away by the unforgettable sunrises, breathtaking starry nights, adorable towns and even our picturesque snow-dusting departure. It was so hard to leave, but we hope to return soon! Everything about the place made us feel like we were in a hallmark movie🎄
