The best areas to stay in Mérida for luxury hotels are the historic city centre and the northern part of the city, particularly along Paseo de Montejo.

The historic city centre is ideal for those who want to be in the heart of the action. This area is home to many beautifully restored historic mansions that now operate as boutique luxury hotels. You'll find yourself within walking distance of the Plaza Grande, the Cathedral of Mérida, and numerous museums, galleries, and fine dining establishments. The streets around Calle 60 and Calle 59 are particularly rich with these high-end options, offering a blend of history and modern comfort. The best area to stay in Mérida for luxury activities and experiences is the historic city centre, particularly around Paseo de Montejo and the Santiago neighbourhood.

Paseo de Montejo is Mérida's most iconic avenue, lined with grand, European-style mansions from the 19th and early 20th centuries.
