![Took a bit of a hiatus recently to go to #japan and it was everything I dreamed and more. Thought this shot was an appropriate #takeahike entry as it was not something I expected to see in the middle of Japanese summer! Leaving in the morning from Toyama in 27+ degree (Celsius) heat to do the Tateyama Kurobe Summer Alpine Route, I thought the rest of the day would be spent in a T-shirt. What a beautiful surprise! Snow and volcanic scenery. And we even drove past some snow monkeys 💙. Falling hard and fast for Japan and its trekking routes, and finally making my Trover wishlist dreams a reality! « 15-min walk to the main terminal for buses to ski slopes. Accommodation was a bit dated. Comfortable but nothing special. The toilet smelled bad no matter how many times we cleaned it. There was sufficient space for 3 large adults; would have been tight for 4 and too cramped for 5\. « Amazing hotel with friendly reception. Although quite far away from Toyama city center, in the middle of rice plantations, the hotel was nice with good dining. The big two storied room was clean and pleasant. They offer a Japanese yukata which you wear throug out your stay at the hotel. Good inner and outer Japanese style onsen were you can recover from your busy day. »

![Took a bit of a hiatus recently to go to #japan and it was everything I dreamed and more. Thought this shot was an appropriate #takeahike entry as it was not something I expected to see in the middle of Japanese summer! Leaving in the morning from Toyama in 27+ degree (Celsius) heat to do the Tateyama Kurobe Summer Alpine Route, I thought the rest of the day would be spent in a T-shirt. What a beautiful surprise! Snow and volcanic scenery. And we even drove past some snow monkeys 💙. Falling hard and fast for Japan and its trekking routes, and finally making my Trover wishlist dreams a reality!
