« The house was good for our family of 6 plus one dog. We stay here to be near UVA and family for concert. Had local family over and grilled burgers. The yard was great to gather and play. Trail was great for the dog walks. Small house but served its purpose for our weekend. Any issues we had were addressed immediately. Road to house is on dirt road. « It was overall a good stay. The property could use a good deep clean-Dust bunnies under the beds, walls were dirty, and 2 of the 3 beds had questionable spots on the sheets which made us concerned if they were actually laundered. « We enjoyed the quiet, laidback feel while staying at the Raven's Roost. It was easy access to food and other interests and about 20 minutes to the Shenandoah N.P. at Thornton Gap entrance. The hosts, who live on the property, were friendly and accomodating. We appreciated the pet friendly accommodations. Ed and Betsy were thoughtful in leaving 1/2 dozen fresh eggs and tasty, homemade bread on our arrival. »

The views were fabulous and he even made a platform in the middle of the field to star gaze and/or have a campfire. "Le petit déjeuner (inclus) est copieux et plutôt bon Les chambres sont spacieuses Il y a beaucoup de places de parking Le tea time de l’après midi est appréciable La plupart des hôtes d’accueil sont plutôt agréables, sauf une qui est vraiment désagréable et qui ne donne pas les infos nécessaires pour que nous passions un bon séjours (la plus jeune des hôtesses d’accueil) Gros bémol: nous sommes restés 3 nuits et la chambre n’a pas été faite une seule fois. Apres la première nuit, on nous a dit que c’est parce qu’il fallait en faire la demande expressément (ce que la fameuse hôtesse d’accueil n’avait pas précisé). Pour les nuits suivantes, nous avons fait la demande, mais les femmes de chambre ne sont quand même pas passées. C’est très décevant pour un hôtel. "
