Close to vineyards and quaint villages with great restaurants, however the best thing about it is its proximity to the Old Rag Mountain trailhead. If you're planning to do that hike, this home is just a short walk to the trailhead so you won't have to worry about the parking issues, and after the hike, the hot tub on the home's deck is heavenly! About 20 minutes from Sperryville, then another 20 or so to Skyline Drive to see the rest of the park. Our group loved the outdoor ping pong, fire pit, and hot tub. The skys are full of stars, each evening here was an enjoyable and relaxing time. Inside sleeps a large group very comfortably, large kitchen and 2 showers with good hot water. The house is on a gorgeous farm property with wonderful views of the sky and the countryside. The location is a bit remote. If you need a lot of outside entertainment, this might not be for you. It was very child-friendly, which was great for our baby and our 4-year old. In the spacious yard we had lots of fun playing ping pong and frisbee, making campfires in the night, and grilling. The place is perfectly located to enjoy the Old Rag trail, which we did, and it’s also very close to nice wineries, breweries and local restaurants. Elena, the host, was super kind, thoughtful and responsive, which added to the great experience.
