Good food in the dinning room, clean room, beds were good. Just a sweet place to step back in time and slow down. The lodge has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere, and our room was clean and comfortable. A couple of areas could be improved: (1) better sound insulation between rooms, as we could hear noise from neighboring guests (TVs, conversations, etc.), and (2) quicker service in the restaurant. The staff were very friendly, rooms were no frills and a bit rustic, but very clean. Bring a map and flashlight if you go out exploring after dark as there is no cell service and the area is dimly lit. The walk in shower was huge and very nice. The location was great for visiting the National Park and for walking around Gatlinburg. Also, a big plus was The Peddler Steakhouse next door.
