We were assigned a basement room with a lovely view of the utilities closet. The room was nothing like the photos. It was only one night, though, and close to our next-day connection at King's Cross.

Everything was old and in disrepair. There was a section of floor in our room that moved significantly if you stepped there. The pillows were so flat it was like sleeping without one. They won't let you keep your room key while you are out in the city, which felt very strange for a hotel so you had to wait to get your room key from the front desk anytime you came back, but they didn't ask for a name or anything, just the room number. Anyone could come ask for the key to a room--it didn't feel secure at all.

Our room was clean, had teacups, a teapot, daily towel change, and housekeeping. The hotel is old, but the staff are friendly and helpful. It's in an up and coming neighbourhood. Lots of construction, but very close to St. Pacreas and King's Cross stations. Lovely walk to the British Museum and then Soho and the theatres. Value for money given we didn't come to London to stay in the rom!

I enjoyed that the staff were very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. they also offered free luggage storage on the day of our rival and day departure.
