Nice hotel with lovely, helpful staff. Very comfortable bed. Very close to lots of bars and restaurants. Some parts looking a little old and in need of renovation.

Very spacious and clean villa. Toilet and shower a little outdated eg shower curtain and toilet made weird sounds when you turned the tap on in the skin. Hard to find in a taxi as there only a sign that says royal hotel. Staff were fantastic when I needed a dr called out and couldn’t fault the cleanliness and the beautifully gardens.

The staff here were amazing! The property itself was nice and maintained. Location isn’t the best but still near shops and restaurants. Lots of shortcuts through back streets. The deluxe queen is a very basic room, but if that’s all you need then it will suite you fine. No fridge in room, and a strong smell of moth balls. Would probably stay again if I was back that way for a cheaper night accommodation.

Lacks basics for comfort.

The staff were pleasant and attentive when needed. Meals were good and always plenty of choices. Hotel is dated with cupboard doors not closing etc needs attention to detail. Hot water was a challenge, when requested. It would be available for the day then it would be off and another request made and so on. On checkin they had us in 2 single beds, although I had contacted them prior to ensure one bed was supplied. When they fixed it there were 2 singles pushed together and although packing was used the dip between them led to poor sleep on a couple of nights. Will NOT stay again, was not expecting resort quality but too many basics were wrong.

The upstairs rooms were lovely but our first night there was in a tiny downstairs room, tv wasn't working properly and no mini fridge. After requesting a change in the morning we were offered upgrade. Staff very helpful.

Showers had very bad water pressure, globe had blown in bedside light, bar fridge hadn’t been re stocked, bathroom although clean was very dark especially over the shower/bath. Room very noisy at night as well. Tried phoning reception a few times and phone rang out - couldn’t contact anyone. Staff really lovely but old and not well maintained.

The hotel did not tell us in advance that they did not have the room category that we booked for till we arrived and was downgraded to a room which is small. We booked for a triple bed but the new room given to us was for an extra bed. Not a proper bed. The sheets was very sandy. The staff was super bad especially the manager who didn’t want to refund our 3 night stay and after we asked for full 3 nights of refund, she ask us to pack our stuff within 30 minutes to check out because they want to sell the room. We found out that other people also had the same experience to ask for a change of room as they weren’t given the room they booked for. This is disappointing and horrible service. Never even said sorry to us for all the experience we had to go through. We will not stay at this property again! The breakfast was horrible too (as a compensation of downgrading us)

A nice, small traditional resort

My wife and I unexpectedly arrived 2 hours late (4am), and the staff waited up for us which was nice. We booked a deluxe room but we were actually upgraded to a 3 bedroom villa, shared with a family member who had also originally booked a deluxe room. The third bedroom downstairs, which was a double, appeared off limits so we were assigned the room with 2 single beds. We asked to be moved to one with a double bed so we were all moved to a different villa down the very back of the hotel. Our new room had dirty linen, and when we pulled the sheets back, there were a heap of dead mosquitoes. I'm unsure how long this room had been vacant for. After this and a heap of construction noise we asked to go back to our original villa and swapped the double room with the family member sharing with us. Again, the linen appeared dirty but perhaps it was just old and stained. The open air bathroom and living areas were full of mosquitoes (fully expected being the climate that it is). The hotel gave us some coils which was nice of them, but we bought more anyway. Breakfast was great - just a simple buffet and omelettes, nasi goreng, mie goreng etc were cooked upon request. Overall the hotel is a nice traditional reprieve from the westernised influence that is steadily (and sadly) taking over Kuta and Legian districts. However, it is clear the hotel has not been maintained for many years which is a real shame. The staff are wonderful.

This is an older property, and it shows. But the 1 bedroom villa we had was great. Good value, huge open living with an air-conditioned bedroom and bathroom upstairs.. more pool lounges would be a good improvement.basic breakfast, very friendly staff... Great location

. I had a one bed. villa which was very clean and spacious. The staff were extremely good, both at front desk and room.Maintenance of grounds and rooms are high, and the only failing would be the water pressure, which is very low, and difficult to have a decent shower.Overall, value for money, i will stay again.
