"Room was clean Staff was very friendly breakfast was good with the standard variety of waffles scrambled eggs sausage cereal toast muffins fruit yogurt hard boiled eggs. Breakfast staff was very friendly and attentive. Kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Coffee teas and hot chocolate always available in the lobby."

"They only have one restaurant open on Mondays and Tuesdays. Room was clean but the a/c in our room was making a ticking sound (especially annoying at night). Staff was courteous and helpful. Breakfast was ok. Selection of slot machines were good, I won some (which made me happy, of course)."

The Redwood Riverwalk, A Boutique Hotel

"We were very disappointed in this hotel. The word Boutique in the title threw us off. The lobby is very nice, but you don’t sleep in the lobby. We were looking forward to a special experience, but it was little better than a hostel. The heater/air conditioner made noise constantly and sounded like somebody was dragging a plastic bag through a shredder. We turned it off before we went to sleep and the air was fine in the room. So the air temperature was good but the bedding provided no warmth whatsoever; in fact it was cold. Had a terrible sleep and ended up wrapping myself up in just a blanket like a sleeping bag. That worked.And the floor was super hard, for those who have sensitive feet. It was a glorified Motel 8, with some cute painting splashed on the concrete Thruway and a nice cedar swing in the back. There are two Tesla chargers for someone who might have an electric car. We got the heck out of dodge very early. I would not recommend this place."

"It is a neat hotel with character. It is clean and well maintained. Overall, I enjoyed my stay, but there are definitely some negatives: The breakfast was pitiful. I was forced to go out for breakfast. There is no dedicated parking and since the hotel is located in the middle of a tourist town, finding street parking was not easy. I had to park several blocks from the hotel. There were often homeless people congregating on the sidewalk in front of the hotel. I would have to walk around them and through their marijuana smoke to get in and out of the hotel."

"No "real" person at the front desk for check-in. The virtual attendant had a microphone that kept cutting out and it took three of us to figure out what she was saying and instructing us to do. There did not appear to be any staff on site and it did not feel safe. Extra flooring planks were left in the hallway with caution tape wrapped around them. The sheets appeared clean, but the mattress underneath was gross looking. Just an overall sense that this was not a good place to be. We did not spend the night and went to another hotel nearby that had a real person on sight and felt much safer. Don't stay here. Go someplace else."

"The hotel is close to the airport and the city of McKinleyville. The staff is helpful and kind. Breakfast is okay. I enjoy their freshly brewed coffee. The premade breakfast burritos and egg sausage sandwiches are satisfactory. Overall, the property is well maintained and very clean. Our flight from Tucson to Seattle was delayed by several hours. We lost our first night stay at the hotel, which had been paid in advanced. And our first day for our rental car as well. I asked for a refund but the front desk clerk told me I would have had to cancel the room the day before of our arrival, by 6pm. Had I known the plane was going to have mechanical issues the day before our departure, I would have. Haha! The same issue happened with Avis, the car rental company."
