Great Highland Starting Point
"Location is great, and only a short walk to the City Center. Rooms are well appointed and staff were friendly and very helpful. Highly recommend this hotel, will definitely stay there again on my next visit to Inverness."

"Beautiful grand hotel, amazing hall, high ceilings, great value for money, it is really worth paying a little extra for the classic rooms to experience this grand building (the cosy rooms on the top floor are fine but small, low ceiling and not particularly good value for money). The buffet breakfast is in a grand classic ballroom-type room with 5m high ceilings. Really worth it.
Service was really pleasant, but they allocated us a cosy room on arrival vs the classic room we had booked: fortunately i had checked this in detail beforehand and went back down to be given the right room (without that detailed check beforehand, we would have simply concluded that we had been unlucky in the room allocation): we assume that was a genuine mistake but we did not appreciate that at all. "Hotel room was clean, modern, had a true king size bed, and the private bathroom shower was truly relaxing! The hotel restaurant serves fantastic food. However, the bar only served Bud draft and a Thai draft beer. I was at the VERY LEAST expecting to be served with a local Scottish beer — huge bummer! The Mercure Hotel is located in the middle town, a one minute walk to Victoria Market— huge plus!"
