The bath uses regular, non-hot spring water which only open from 800-2000\. No hot water in the dormitory bathrooms. Hotel is well equipped with gym and game room however for members only. Wish more clarification on the booking sites for this. Way over priced! We stayed one night. Staff are very nice. But the place is of a by gone era. It’s old but not in a charming way. Showers in the onsen are cold and you have to wait for many minutes in order for hot water to come out. The rooms and elevators are old. the outdoor hotspring is on the top floor with no facilities (you have to go downstairs first and shower) and no real view to speak of. The location is on the main drag which is nice. The hotel was also very warm and inviting - they lit the fireplace on some nights and there were fun amenities in the lobby like hammocks and a foosball table. My 9 year old daughter loved the kid's club and was there before dinner everyday. My husband and I also loved the gym - it was very clean and well equipped. The onsen was also wonderful, especially the outdoor section. The breakfast buffet selection was very wide and we needed a couple of days to finish discovering all the dishes. Parking was free and very convenient - we were able to park very close to the lobby. The room was spacious and had a huge powder room and a very clean shower and bath area. Housekeeping was very good at making sure we were well supplied with drip coffee and bottled water everyday. The only small downside was the distance between the hotel and the closest town. Thankfully we drove, so it wasn't difficult to get in and out. The surrounding area is beautiful and we would love to visit again not just for the hotel, but also for the scenic spots!"
