"Laundry room was filthy, to go food everywhere. No quarter machine, sign said to go to front desk but they never had any. Told to go to the arcade in the mall but they were closed. Booked this hotel mainly because it has an indoor pool. The hotel rents out the pool to some swimming class several hours a week on different days. Nowhere is that stated on Expedia or their hotel website. If I’m booking a hotel I should have access to all amenities or be informed on the closure. Arrived a few hours early and asked if we can pay to check in early. The morning front desk agent said yes but it will be another hour before I can get into the room. He gave us breakfast passes and we went to eat. When we came back about 45 min later he was gone for the day and the new front desk employee said she would get us to a room shortly. 5 hours later we still don’t have a room. The lady left for break and the manager came over to us and asked if we needed anything. I told him a room we were told we would get 5 hours ago and he said no problem. He didn’t know why they didn’t check us in but said he would figure it out. Never heard from him the rest of the 3 day stay. Last day at 9:15 am, and hour and 45 min before checkout a person opened the door while knocking to clean the room. She walked in on my 16 year old son changing in the room. I love Hilton properties, but the need to pull their name off this location. "

"Front desk staff were extremely helpful and kind. Our room was ready early which was also very nice. It ended up being terrible weather during our stay so we tried to book some spa services to stay out of the weather. The spa didn't answer, but then did call back to inform us they didn't have any staff actually on site and would have to call them in. They couldn't actually tell us if we could book an appointment until the next day and asked us to call back. The next morning called back to try again-but no answer. We had breakfast in the lovely dining room-decent food and very nice waitstaff. Also had dinner in the lounge. The cocktails were delicious, but the food was so-so. There was a large conference and I think the kitchen might have been overwhelmed-food took forever to come and was just not great "

"The hotel was great. About 6 blocks from the White House and a mile walk to the Washington Monument. The staff were extremely friendly and very attentive to us. Always greeted us with a smile. We ate dinner about two times and it was great. We had espresso in the morning with Carlos and he was very attentive. "

"I live six blocks from this hotel and have routinely referred friends and family to stay there. When the current Middle East war forced our family to evacuate to DC within 36 hours, I frantically searched the internet and was glad to see The Line was available, so I booked through Expedia. Once settled upon arrival, I asked the front desk about the 10% Ward 1 discount - for those who live in the neighborhood. I was told by one clerk that because I booked through Expedia the discount could not be applied but she would check with her manager, even through I explained the extenuating circumstances. I checked again with the same clerk the following day and was given the same response.- would have to check with the manager. At the same time, when asking about replacing a room key, another front desk clerk SCOLDED me for not saying “good morning” to her. Upon checkout I inquired a third time about applying the discount and explained the extenuating circumstances of my booking. A manager finally came out and confirmed a third party booking precluded applying a discount. I serve the United States overseas and my referrals have generated thousands of dollars to this hotel, but no longer. Their lack of flexibility and poor customer service means I will actively dissuade others from booking here. For a nearly four figure two-night stay (yep, all those taxes and fees!), a 10% discount could have been a meaningful sign of support for a neighbor whose life was upended."
