Top Hakone Open Air Museum Hotel Reviews

Hakone Kowakien TEN-YU

10/10 Excellent

"Property was serene and peaceful. Rooms were comfortable and really enjoyed our private onsen. Breakfast and dinner were both remarkable."

HAKONE Setsugetsuka

10/10 Excellent

"The hotel was just magical, from start to finish we loved every minute of HAKONE Setsugetsuka, especially the private Onsen. We also used the bath in our room which was fabulous. Highly recommend this hotel wish is right next to the train station so great if you don't want to walk to far."

Musashino Bekkan

10/10 Excellent

"We were an extended family of seven. We had half board included. The experience of staying in a ryokan was wonderful. The breakfast and dinner served to us in our larger room was both generous in portions and delicious to taste. The children were given partial portions of the Japanese menu which they enjoyed. The service from all staff was gracious and friendly. The onsens were so beautifully located outside but were quite hot! We couldn’t fault our stay. What was wonderful for us was the skies cleared after days of rain and we saw Mt Fuji above the clouds. Who could ask for more! I highly recommend a stay at Musashino Bekkan."

Hotel Indigo Hakone Gora by IHG

10/10 Excellent

"Hotel itself is excellent. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Rooms are huge and beds are comfy. In room onsen is barely large enough for 2, but still a nice feature. Public spa area was great when we were there. Had the place to ourselves at 7am. Might be less pleasant when busier. Only downside really was that we were only there for one night and it was heaving with rain. As a result, didn’t really do any of the things we planned. One note, and this is mentioned on the website, there is construction happening right across the river from the rooms. It won’t last forever but might be worth checking in the near term if that’s something that might be of concern."

Hakone Gora KARAKU (ORIX HOTELS & RESORTS)

10/10 Excellent

"Great Hotel, and outdoor private hot bath"

Gora Kansuiro

10/10 Excellent

"Absolutely beautiful hotel giving a wonderful ryokan experience with hot springs. The natural scenery is beautiful making you forget you are conveniently less than 5 minutes away from the station. The hotel provides a fancy 10-course meal inspired by traditional Japanese cooking and a similar approach for breakfast. We had a room with a private onsen which was lovely and relaxing but also took a moment to enjoy the shared indoor and outdoor onsens, which are fairly small but also beautiful. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and able to converse with us in English which was convenient for us."

The Fujiya Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"The hotel was lovely. The Onsen was gorgeous, with view on the mountains. Everything was well maintained, staff very useful, bus stops are also close to the hôtels if you need to get around and do not have a car. We loved this place"

Rakuten STAY TERRACE Hakone Kowakudani

"Very spacious good for family with kids"

Hakone Yutowa

10/10 Excellent

"You need to go outside to get from one portion of the complex to another which is not fun in the heavy rain. Great staff and wonderful free ice pops"
