Waterfront Retreat w/ Hot Tub in Gun Barrel City!

"The house was in a perfect location. Even though the lake is down 3 1/2 to 4 feet we still had water off of the boat dock. The house was clean with not many issues. There are a few minor things that I would fix if I own the house that would get me five stars. Maybe I did not read the listing correctly, but it is three bedrooms, but you have to pass for one bedroom to get to another bedroom. Although the second bedroom has an outside entrance to it I was not aware it was designed like this with a sliding door between the two bedrooms. The game room was fantastic. The kitchen was pretty good and we also had an individual standup freezer. The air-conditioning in the game room did not work when we got there. However, the powers that be had an HVAC repairman over there the next morning. He could not repair it right away, so he installed a window unit for us which worked fabulously. So if there is an issue, know that it will be taken care of. Some minor things about the kitchen. I wish there was a little bit more light or brightness. The bulbs are dim. I prefer a very well lit area. That is just my preference so if it is not yours, that will not be an issue. Also, you can sleep quite a few people at that house, but they’re only seemed to be about five forks in the kitchen. I think, adding a little bit more silverware to the drawer would do wonders. My only real issue was 100s of wasps on the boat dock. If someone would just take a hose or something and knock down the dauber nests."

"We rented both homes from Kate and Nina for our family gathering of 22 people, and they were a great fit for our group. Both houses were exceptionally clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay.The outdoor amenities were a highlight. Our family thoroughly enjoyed the yard games and recreational equipment, which provided plenty of entertainment for all ages.Our only disappointment was the water level at the docks. To be fair, this was clearly disclosed in the VRBO listing, and Kate and Nina also provided an updated status when I reached out the week before our arrival. What we hadn't anticipated was the amount of mud and how challenging it would be to reach the boat we rented, which had to be anchored approximately 100 yards from the dock. While this made boating less convenient, we recognize that water levels are a natural condition beyond the hosts' control.Overall, we had a wonderful stay and appreciated Kate and Nina's communication, honesty, and hospitality. We would gladly recommend their properties to other large groups looking for a clean, well-equipped place to gather."
