"Really loved Hotel Grimsborgir! We stayed for 4 nights. The location is excellent - about an hour from Reykjavik and really easy to drive to. Lots of parking. Updated decoration throughout and very spacious rooms. Access to the hot tubs was great. The breakfast was varied and very tasty. We ate in the restaurant once and were very satisfied with the meal and with the service. Staff were very polite and knowledgeable. And they called to let us know the Northern Lights were visible!"

"The location was great, right in the middle of the promenade. Parking was tricky but if you can remember to park in the P2 zone where it’s cheaper by the hour and free overnight. We found a spot two streets over. The room was great and exactly how it was described."

"I like how very convenient the location and the amenities of the property. Plenty of toilets, shower rooms to choose from, seats for you to relax, couch and even a nice kitchen to prepare your own meals. The location is very convenient and will definitely choose to stay in this hostel next time. I didn't appreciate the Flybus for not picking me up which I pay so I can get to the airport on time. I have no choice but ride a taxi which is unlawful and feels like paying for a flight to another country like 300CAD$. Flybus in Reykjavik is horrible and tsxi is triple the price."

"Overall we were very happy with the stay. Highlights were the central location, welcoming/helpful staff and the good sized room. Property is close to all the attractions and transport. We were offered welcome drinks including wines and some light breakfast/coffee on the day of our departure. Staff helped to make reservations for tours/transfers. We will definitely reconsider them if we visit next time."

"The staff were excellent, knowledgeable, and friendly. The hotel communicated with us nicely before the stay. The restaurant food was excellent. The room was nice but a bit on the small side, completely usable though. The hotel is walking distance to a lot downtown Reykjavik landmarks, shopping, and museums. We would be very happy to stay there again"

"Overall the hotel is very nice and in a good location. We enjoyed the Beer Garden after check in for a yummy burger and nice cocktail. As far as the room the size was adequate and the bed comfortable and the shower had good water pressure and was plenty hot. On the downside the shower was way too small and there was a tub but I can’t imagine many people use it. The space would be better utilized with a larger shower. Also, only one window opened in the room and there was only a down comforter so I was very hot all night. Keeping in mind we stayed in early September I feel like it could get even warmer in the Summer months."
