Dirty Rooms/ Had to Switch Hotels

We checked in and got to our room and the floor had not been vacuumed, there was clumps of dirt on the floor, the mirror in the bathroom had debris all over it where it had not been wiped down, the sink faucet had toothpaste spit still all over it front the previous guests. We went down stairs and let them know, thinking we had mistakenly gotten a room that wasn't ready for check in yet, but the second room they put us in had the same problems except the floor appeared to have been vacuumed, but the desk in the room had hair and what looked like makeup powder all over it where it had not been wiped down. The hotel was not clean at all, so we ended up calling Expedia and cancelling the hotel, and booked another. This was the first time in my like that I have ever changed hotels or complained about a roo, but it was not somewhere I could have stayed for 2 nights and have been comfortable. I would not recommend! We ended up booking the 1861 Inn of Gettysburg and it was extremely clean, had a fantastic breakfast, and cheaper than the Comfort Suites.

The room was a great size for our family of 4. Microwave and refrigerator were a plus. The continental breakfast was disappointing. The exercise room was also disappointing....only 3 cardio machines, 2 were broken, tv did not work in the exercise room. the room was clean an comfortable.

Will not be staying again!

Our room was not cleaned. Dirty sheets were remade and not changed. Bathroom was not clean at all. Had to change sheets and clean br myself when we arrived. Also very cheaply managed. Refrigerator turned off, pool heat turned off, and cable was bad. Will not be returning ever!

Close to Town and everything Gettysburg!

Pros: Closeness to everything. Walking distance to Lincoln Center
Cons: breakfast buffet was just ok and typical, coffee was terrible, no selection of creamers. Smell of pool lingers in the lobby. iron did not work.
Location: Gettysburg National Park, everything down town is with in walking distance. Good selection of food and shopping. Outlet mall is close.
Hotel is walking distance to down town if you don't want to drive. Right next to Cemetery Hill and monuments for Gettysburg National Park, minutes to the visitor center and Outlet mall. Great location! Room is large and comfortable. King size suite I like but I did not like the comfort bed but my wife did. The Breakfast buffet was typical. Everything Gettysburg is very close. NOTE: New years Day, everything is closed except for a few eateries. I recommend Food 101, The Pub, Blue and Gray, and Garyowen Irish Bar and tavern all served great food and really good service. the best coffee and breakfast sandwiches we had were at the Edge Coffee house on Chambersburg Street.

Fine for the purpose

Stayed in the hotel om Newyears Eve and spent the night in the city of Gettysburg. Room was decent and fairly clean. Beds were average. Staff is friendly, the complementary breakfast ok. All in all, the experience was fine for a night.

Terrible!

The experience with this hotel was terrible! In the 2 nights that we stayed there, we encountered 10 stink bugs. Seems that they were coming out of every crack. The carpet hasn't been vacuumed since it was installed. Our room smelled like someone was smoking there, even though the hotel is non-smoking. When we went to tell the woman at the reception desk about our stinky crawly roommates, she said Oh yeah, we know. And it is not an infestation. They are coming in because it is cold outside. Thank you for the lesson in migration pattern of stink bugs, but unless they share the payment for the room, they shouldn't be in the room. This is 21 century and we weren't camping, and the hotel is not even a historic place. There is absolutely no reason why I should deal with stink bugs in my room! I didn't even mind looking at headstones outside my window.

Pros: Large room. Very clean. Free and easy internet.
Cons: Perfect for the price.
Location: Good location for easy access to downtown and historic sites.
Great amenities - sofa bed plus refrigerator and microwave.

Nice hotel in the middle of Gettysburg

The hotel exterior and interior were clean and appeared to be well-maintained, with the exception of the exercise machines in the fitness center. The bike was broken and the elliptical was being held together in places with duct tape. However, the room was clean, towels and water were provided in the space, and there were free weights that could be used (which can't be found everywhere). Our room was spacious and clean; however, some small details, such as a rip in the curtain on the window and an old (and scarred/worn out) toilet seat were a bit of a let down. We were able to look past these details, however, because of the quality of the rest of the space. Each staff member we interacted with was friendly and helpful and offered advice about local restaurants and attractions we should visit before leaving town. The hotel location is ideal for anyone visiting Gettysburg as a tourist; it's close to the battlefield and museums, close to major highways, and just minutes from the town's restaurants, attractions, and lovely downtown area. The price was fair, considering the size of the room and the amenities (fridge and microwave in room, fold-out couch, desk/work space, breakfast included, free parking, fitness center, pool) and the location. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend to others visiting Gettysburg in the future.

The sun has done a number on the shear curtains on the front of the hotel and we have replacements ordered to arrive in January. Disappointing

The rooms were a good size (2 queens & pull out sofa) which was great for our family. However, the towels were dingy and stained. The free breakfast was barely edible, the second morning we went out for breakfast. There was much confusion at checkin and my card was charged twice, although the charges were later reversed. The blower on the heater never shut off even when the fan was set to auto, and if the temp was set to anything less than 77 it would blow cold air. It was off-season so the nightly rate was great, but I'd never pay in-season rates here.

I hope you let our desk know about the heating issues so we could resolve before the next guest. My guess is the card was not actually charged twice, but authorized, and charged. The authorization reversed itself once "it" realized the room was paid in full. We do understand how confusing and frustrating this is and apologize.
