"This property was recently renovated and the unit was wonderful. I was originally planning to stay just one nite and decided it was so nice to stay a second nite. The young gentleman who checked me in was so friendly and accommodating, especially when I requested another nite."

"Great last minute find. Sometimes Super 8's get a bad rap but I agree with the gentleman in the lobby that morning that this Super 8 exceeded expectations. Clean comfy and a good selection for breakfast. Walkable to a great brewery across the parking lot and close to the river park. My children and I enjoyed our stay. Close to Redwoods and I preferred the location over staying in the larger town of Eureka. We were lucky to stumble upon this location."

"Weirdly incredible and luxurious stay with full size huge bathroom, full size dove brand soap and shampoo (I hate soap bars), and courteous staff.room had Keurig, fridge, and microwave which never happens. Usually I have nowhere to reheat food and the coffee pots of old makers are gross. Bfast is standard continental plus eggs and sausage patty."

"I was a little concerned after reading some of the reviews, but our stay here was perfect. We opted for a room with a jetted tub which was great after two long days of hiking (though one person complained that the jets weren't powerful enough.) The room was clean and the grounds were well maintained. Sound was not an issue, but the door doesn't block sound that well so it's possible to hear people coming and going from their rooms within the courtyard quite easily. On the other hand, we were serenaded by the frogs in the koi pond every night. The outdoor hot tub was closed for maintenance, but the indoor hot tub was open. Pool closes at 9pm so by the time we were at our room each night, it was already closed, but that's why we got the room with the tub. The area around the hotel and the parking lot did not seem unsafe in any way. I rarely saw anyone who wasn't a hotel guest when I looked out the window. Our room had a sliding door that looked out onto the adjacent street and it wasn't an issue. Oh, one minor complaint - the TV had motion smoothing enabled on every channel so all the movies looked like soap operas. TV was basically unwatchable. Should be disabled but there's no way to adjust the menu settings. "

"The hotel is always clean and the staff is friendly. I enjoy walking to the river in the mornings to drink my coffee. There aren't many options to stay in Fortuna, but this is my choice every time."
