Reception staff were terrible at check in time. If you can, avoid checking in at 2pm.
There were almost 10 parties waiting to check in and there was no system to identify who was waiting first. There was only 1 staff at the check in table at 2pm.
Staff told some patrons to sit and wait while new patrons stood in line. Once they were ready to check someone new in, they called from the line rather than people sitting and waiting. When challenged, the staff were defensive and offered no apology for the error and wait time. Insgead, they argued with the customers and said they weren't aware since they were on their lunch break. The staff did not communicate to each other and no apologies were made.

Clean and tidy in both rooms and common areas with some lovely decorations up for Easter. Buffet breakfast had a good selection available and the chef was friendly and also happy to also cook omelette for guests if requested.
The lifts are painfully slow even though there are 2 banks of lifts - it’s like it needs to power on each time you press the button.

A lot of pros and cons with this place. Very upscale and the room was spacious and modern. The location is excellent. On the other hand, the room design was a bit odd. Bathroom not truly separate from the bed area (sliding thin panels) and there was street noise. A lot of non-guests frequent the hotel so it was busy but not in a good way. Services, like the cafe, were closed during our entire stay of four nights. Weird for a hotel at this price and expected caliber. I liked it okay but my wife says never again.

This was the second time i stayed at Clarion. It aas really great. The staff are great. I am grateful for the assistance from the front desk when i was running late for a show and the woman ordered a taxi for me so i could get there on time. Even with check out the front staff are just lovely.

The location was excellent. Nice and close to bourke street mall. The hotel room room was a good size, but the bathroom was tight, especially between the toilet and toilet door. Luggage storage was friendly and secure.
