The carina bay hotel experience was amazing the staff was amazing , kind and helpful and made my birthday experience wonderful.

I really enjoyed my stay at The Waves. The staff was truly helpful and amazing. The room was BEYOND perfect. AMA was amazing, I went twice! I cannot wait to go back

Beautiful Beach, Unacceptable Accommodations I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel obligated to warn future travelers. The beach itself is beautiful, but unfortunately that was the only highlight of my stay. The accommodations were outdated and did not match the photos used in the listing. I also experienced serious issues with room security and cleanliness during my stay. My first room had a balcony door that would not lock, requiring me to move rooms. On my second night, I found a cockroach on my bed and watched another crawl into the wall. I understand that tropical beachfront properties can occasionally have insects, but they should never be in your bedroom—especially on your bed. At that point, I no longer felt safe staying there. While the staff I interacted with were courteous and professional, the condition of the property itself was not acceptable for the price or expectations set by the listing. Thankfully, Hotels.com took my concerns seriously and relocated me to another resort the following morning. The difference was night and day. I understand the property is under new ownership, and I sincerely hope the planned renovations address these concerns because the location has tremendous potential. Until then, I cannot recommend staying here.
