"I loved it here! The breakfast was delicious. The villa was very cute and a short 2 minute walk to the beach. It was a great start to my trip. I hope to stay here again sometime!"

"We had a great stay! Breakfast was delicious and the attention overall was excellent. The restaurant on site is a big plus. Prices are on budget and food is really good. A little supermarket next to the hotel makes the location super convenient. Will stay again when visiting Playa Hermosa."

Charming hotel, very well kept and amazing helpful staff. Lovely quiet beach front nearby with a few decent dining options there. Quiet chill place to relax, mostly an adult hotel overall it seems and with some nice live entertainment on weekends. Close enough to Coco beach for more dining options and beach stuff plus a very decent grocery store. Was great as a low key home base for this trip and very easy to and from the airport.

When you pay next to nothing for a hotel, expectations need to match the price point.
I booked fairly last minute and my options were limited, and also needed a pet friendly hotel.
Primavera is in the perfect location for someone who does not have a car and is on a budget. It was perfect as an overnight to explore Liberia, close to great restaurants and the city centre but set back enough to not be too noisy.
The room is basic, but it had a desk and chair, the bed was fine and it was...

We stayed here for a week and it was excellent. We were here in the middle of the hot season, which meant we couldn't to do much during the middle of the day but the AC in the hotel was excellent and having the pool right there made the heat seem like no issue at all. I would highly recommend staying here for a short or long stay.

Good deal on activities; you can do horseback, zipline, tubing or rafting, rappel, and lunch for $75! But my kids simply wanted to play at the pool. We ate every meal there and were satisfied. The nachos are excellent, so are the piña coladas! My favourite place to stay near Rincon. It was my 3rd or 4th time! The rooms are basic, but if you need anything, the staff is very professional.

The best area to stay in El Real is the coastal stretch around Playa del Coco, especially for those seeking convenience and a lively hub.
Playa del Coco is the main town in the area, offering a good selection of restaurants, shops, and services. The main street, Calle Central, runs parallel to the beach and is where you'll find most of the activity, from local eateries to souvenir shops. It's a very walkable area, with the beach easily accessible from most accommodations.
Couples looking for a mix of relaxation and activity will find Playa del Coco ideal. You can easily book excursions like catamaran tours or diving trips directly from the local operators. There are also plenty of beachfront restaurants superb for enjoying a sunset dinner.
For those prioritising a more secluded experience but still wanting easy access to amenities, the areas just north and south of Playa del Coco, such as Ocotal or Hermosa Beach, offer a quieter alternative.
When is the best time to go to El Real?
The best time to visit El Real, Guanacaste, Costa Rica, is during the dry season, which runs from December to April. This period offers consistently sunny weather, making it ideal for enjoying the region's outdoor activities and beaches.
During these months, you'll experience minimal rainfall and clear skies, which is superb for exploring the natural beauty of Guanacaste, from its pristine beaches to its national parks. The warm temperatures are excellent for swimming, sunbathing, and water sports.
For those planning a relaxing beach holiday, particularly couples or families, the dry season ensures you can fully enjoy the coastline around El Real, such as the nearby Playa Conchal, known for its shell-laden sands, or the popular surfing spots further south. Hotels and resorts are fully operational, offering a wide range of amenities during this peak travel time.
