"The man at the front was rude to us from the start. Once we got into our room it was nasty the mattress was brown and lumpy. The room was not cleaned there was hair on the bathroom floor and it smelled very musty. We decided to leave because we didn’t feel comfortable sleeping here and the front guy made it very clear we were unable to get a refund. Overall bad experience. "

"Enjoyed my stay here much more than the last time a year ago! Stayed on a higher floor, less subway noise and vibrations made for a more enjoyable experience. Rooms are clean, tidy and bed was comfy. Could have done with a coffee maker in the room, but there is a great “happy hour” of sorts downstairs in the late afternoon and I guess grabbing a free cup of coffee in the lobby makes up for it. Given the snow and the extreme cold during my stay, I can report the room, lobby temperatures were great. The restaurant/bar, on the other hand, was cold and so uncomfortable I had to leave and hoof it to Starbucks down the street. Otherwise this is a fantastic hotel. "

"From check-in through check-out, the staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and demonstrated what great customer service is all about. M at the front desk - she was extremely pleasant in spite of the number of people checking in. She was giving individual attention, and didn’t seem like she was rushing things along. As the first point of contact for my stay, this set the tone for my stay. J E and J R - J E kept an eye on the breakfast food, and was quick to call for replacements when needed. There was very little wait for this. I’ve stayed at other hotels where they seem indifferent when things run out and take their time refilling things, but not J E. Assisting him was J R, who made sure that tables were cleared off when vacated, and greeting the guests. He was attentive to all. With J R and J E working on that, it made all the difference. T at the front desk - Once again, he came through for me with a late checkout. While I was thinking of just an hour more (because of a Zoom meeting), he offered until 1 so I didn’t feel rushed after the meeting. While this may seem like a little thing, for me it made a difference, and I appreciate it. Housekeeping was responsive when additional towels were requested, and the room was well maintained. I’ve stayed at numerous hotels. What I’ve come to realize is that it is the staff that really makes the experience special, and the team at the hotel was outstanding. I look forward to my next stay there."
