Described as an open-air museum, the islands of the Malta archipelago enable visitors to explore 7,000 years of history while living passionately in the present. Due to its strategic location and excellent natural harbours, the culture of Malta has been influenced by Phoenician, Greek, Roman, and Arab traders as well as French and British colonial powers. After tracing the first century footsteps of the Apostle Paul and sites where the Knights of St. John defended Christendom in the 1500s, tourists who stay in Malta hotels can enjoy a fine dining experience and the island's renowned nightlife. One of the many cheap hotel deals in Malta that are available on Expedia will help stretch your holiday budget, so you can experience more of what this amazing country has to offer.

The breathtaking scenery of honey-coloured stone set against the deep blue of the Mediterranean Sea provides a stunning backdrop to the historic architecture and present day cultural institutions that dot the countryside. The island of Malta is the location of the Blue Grotto, a series of caves and spectacular rock formations, and the beautiful sandy beaches of Golden Bay. Valletta, the capital of Malta, is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Malta hotel deals enable you to explore the island of Comino. It is known for the crystal-clear water of the Blue Lagoon as well as the Santa Maria Tower. This 17th-century cliff-top fortress was the setting for a scene in the movie The Count of Monte Christo. The third major island of the country, Gozo, has breathtaking sunsets and the unique coastal structures known as the Azure Window and Blue Hole. Gozo is also the home of Neolithic temples, the world's oldest extant buildings. See these as well as other sites when you book a cheap Malta hotel deal at special discount rates.

In addition to spectacular scenery, numerous museums, and archaeological sites, Malta hotel packages offer water sports enthusiasts some excellent beaches and offshore boating excursions. Malta is also considered to have some of the best diving spots in the world. Relax on the beach or explore the treasure trove of undersea marine life. You will find that hotels in Malta have a variety of rooms and amenities. "Great location and reception staff"
Stayed in the Intercontinental Malta with my husband + 3 yr old Positives: 1.) Location - very central, across the road to Baystreet shopping complex, surrounded by plenty of restaurants/cafes. Being next to the strip of nightclubs did mean we often had to walk past lots of loud music, but this didn't bother us and we never felt at risk even with a young child. Couldn't hear any loud music once in the hotel, and when in our room (pool facing) Could see the Intercontinental's section of the private beach from the main entrance of the hotel. 2 minute walk. 2.) Beach - good sized private section of the sandy beach. Beach towels/sun beds included. Beach bar/restaurant staff readily available to take orders/serve drinks at a click of the button by your sun lounger. Sand was very coarse and a bit sore to walk on - more like tiny pebbles but my toddler still enjoyed building sand castles with it. 3.) Reception staff/concierge - courteous and helpful. Concierge were polite, always there to open the door and happy to be asked questions. Check in counter staff also good help. 4.) Buffet restaurant managers efficient and showed us to our table every morning. Buffet waiters generally ok with 2 or 3 exceptional ones who would go out of their way to help you. Negatives: 1.) Housekeeping - disappointing. Started with x3 of each towel size as you would expect for a room booked for 3. Ended up with such few towels we had to share, strangely started on day 2 after we tipped them

"Great location (4* as nothing is perfect!)"
This hotel is lovely. It's huge too! Rooms are cleaned every day (quite early in the morning actually so we just put do not disturb sign on the door so we could have a lie in) - They will come at another point in the day when you're out. There's plenty of space for sun bathing by the pools and there's an even better spot down by the sea which we favoured (if you fancy sun bathing away from children I'd find this spot). We stayed here on a room only basis so didn't really eat here apart from a massive burger and chips at Henry Bean's! A slight downside for me was the price of bottled water by the pools - €4.50 for a 'big' bottle. So get yourself a few bottles from the local shops to take. You can get 2ltr bottles for as little as 50 cents. However, having said this the hotel does provide you with 2 complimentary 500ml in your room each day so that kind of makes up for it :-) The heated indoor pool is lovely. Drinks in general are a little on the highside but I recommend a Kalypso on the Broadside Terrace - one of the nicest cocktails I've had! The location of this hotel is great, you're not far from the buzzing night life of St Julians and I recommend a 10 minute walk into Spinola Bay where there's plenty of restaurants to choose from. Also if families are wanting to avoid the party strip this is easily done, don't let the night life put you off! On our last day we hired a peddalow with a slide - great fun as long as you have the upper body strength to get back on! :-D

    "Comfortable with beautiful views"
We spent 4 nights at the Weston Dragonara and enjoyed being there. However, there were a couple of issues. We did not have free internet in the room and were told that was because we had booked through Expedia. I have booked other trips with Expedia and have always had free internet. Had I noted that limitation before booking I would have booked a different hotel. We booked a room on the Executive floor because we wanted access to the Executive Lounge. The lounge was fine but not as good as in some other hotels where I have stayed recently. Also, there was an unpleasant smell in the room each time we returned after being out all day. I told the hotel several times and although they tried to pour liquids down the drain it did not appear to work. On the positive side, the staff were helpful and polite, the location of the hotel is perfect for a short stay and the food in the Terrace cafe was very good.

    "Lovely hotel, good location "
Easy to get to other more busier locations as hotel is in a 'quieter' area of Malta. The balcony door was left open on one occasion by the housekeeping team. There is always plenty of food choice at breakfast - no matter what time of the morning. Slightly confusing as to where/what floor the front of the hotel is as there are two choices to enter the building.

    "not 5 star but nice"
Nice hotel, we liked the room, bathroom was big with a separate shower and bath and we had a nice view of the marina. Didn't think the staff were particularly helpful or friendly anywhere in the hotel except round the pool, they were very pleasant. We liked the pool area, but the bars closed early (5 o'clock) the breakfast was nice. Quite a walk into town but we were ok about that. Lifts are a challenge, they don't seem to work properly.
