Now I remember why I only stay at Hilton Hotels
Check in was to be at 3:00. We arrived after a long day at 5:00 and our room was 'not ready' yet. A nice gesture was made and we were given a complimentary drink from the bar. Our room was 'ready' about 30 minutes later... we did have an enjoyable time talking with bartender- Penny? :) Then we went to our room.
There was a pungent smell that hit as soon as we walked in. I'm still not sure what it was? It was not VINEGAR, but it was about as displeasing as vinegar. I opened the sliding door in hopes of 'airing it out'. We had to get ready and leave soon after arrival at this point. No time to switch rooms- if there WERE any ready..
Inside the closet and around the A/C there was black mold. Yes. On the wall up by the ceiling. Had the AC on, but no telling what it was blowing out on my while I slept.
I realized that this was a SHERATON hotel.. Generally, I have made efforts to stay at HILTON hotels, and because of location, and a good deal advertised, we gave it a try. Guess we need to stick with Hilton.
The looked like it was opened with a crow-bar at one point as well. Door was ruined by the lock.
