"The hotel is in a good location convenient to downtown Charleston and the staff was polite but the room was filthy on check in, bathroom had mildew in the shower, thick dust around the sides of the bed - especially by the nightstands - and the insides of the drawers were dirty. We requested a room cleaning showing the clerk pictures of the room and they took care of the bathroom and remade the bed but the rest of the room remained dusty and dirty. There was also trash piled up in the alcove by the ice machine. We prepaid for the room so we decided to make the best of it and not lose the money we paid. Breakfast was okay, we did not try the pool."

"Hotel was absolutely BEAUTIFUL and in a great location. Any type of cuisine you could want is within a 10 minute walk along with lots of restaurants serving up local fare. Staff was super helpful and for a hotel that is over 100 years old, it was very well kept and clean. Only complaint is that beds are full size, not queen so be sure to pay close attention when booking. I did not and found it difficult for our party of 3 to sleep in only two beds. Staff was amazing about bringing in a twin size roll away when I asked for one... but it unfortunately was also very uncomfortable. And the Starbucks was closed. Those are my only complaints. Otherwise hotel was absolutely BEAUTIFUL and in a great location. We were only there for a weekend but we really enjoyed our stay in Charleston."

"Sand in the tub, water in the shower didn’t drain very well. The hotel needs an update . Dirty gloves in the elevator. Paper on the floor when we check in. Hair and toothpaste in the sink. Female server wasn’t friendly. Buffet was dry not fresh. The happy hour was only a couple of drinks . Very limited variety."

"Upon arrival everything looked ok and our room looked nice. We had been in the heat all day and just looking forward to getting showers and resting. Shower gel was completely empty, but front desk sent more quickly. Found several pubic hairs in the shower and hotel never acknowledged by message about that. TV was not a smart one and we were unable to screencast our phones so had to watch shows on our phones. Looking forward to sleeping in to be woken by very loud, repetitive noises beginning at 6 AM and continuing for more than 2 hours. Breakfast was not included. Very frustrating and disappointing stay. Would not recommend or return."

"I was very disappointed with my stay. The bed sheets smelled strongly of urine, and my room was only cleaned once during my entire stay. There was also a heavy cigarette odor throughout the property, making it unpleasant for families. The carpet in the room was extremely dirty so much so that I did not feel comfortable letting my one-year-old walk on it. Overall, the cleanliness and condition of the hotel did not meet expectations, and I would not recommend it for families with young children. The only good thing was it was close to the places we traveled to in Charleston."

"The hotel is in a great central location, has free parking, and a shuttle (extra fee) if needed to sightsee downtown. It was clean, in a very safe area, and the lobby nicely decorated, although there is some need for maintenance around the property. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, especially the croissant egg sandwiches. We chose this hotel for game playing tables in the lobby and for daily pool time. The pool was nice and not too crowded; however, it desperately needs more umbrellas! One umbrella over one table was very skimpy and always taken. It would be a great addition to have HOOKS in the room to dry bathing suits and/or towels. Lastly, for longer stays, it would be very nice to have better cable selections. I was happy to see the possibility to stream on YouTube or Prime, however, I did not have my password to use it. So, remember to keep your streaming passwords handy. We would definitely stay here again!"
