"This was a very nice hotel, the staff was exceptional. The only reason I didn’t give a 5 star rating is there is no coffee maker in the rooms. I had never stayed at a hotel that didn’t have coffee in my room. I went down to the lobby and had to pay $3.11 for a tiny cup of coffee. "

"Owner was very nice. Room and hotel is need of a remodel. Room floor looked fairly new and bed was firm with clean sheets. The bottom of the bathroom door coming off and the tub and tile needed work. I did find a dead cockroach in the room but did not see any others during my stay. The TV remote was covered in a black sticky substance. I put it in a sandwich bag before I used it. The breakfast offered the basics, but the only hot food was toast and frozen waffles you out in a toaster. Basically, the hotel is old and needs renovated. "

"The hotel is a happening place with both lobby and poolside entertainment. It's located downtown near all the best restaraunts. The valet parking is also convenient. My only "complaint", which the hotel is aware of, is that the bed headrests are showing serious wear and tear, so much so that there is a sign on them saying, while clean, they know they should be replaced. Hopefully, that sign won't be there a year from now."

"The complimentary breakfast was nice, but it was exactly the same every day. For example, to vary the breakfast sausage with bacon would be appreciated. For those of us staying several days, we need variety. Also there was no wastebasket in the bedroom. There was one in the bathroom, but the main room should have had one too. There was a recycling basket in the main part, yes, but no waste basket where we needed one most. Other than these complaints, the La Quinta Inn was conveniently located and felt safe and quiet. Rooms on the highway side may be prone to traffic noise, however. We were on the quiet side of the building and it was peaceful."

"The hotel is in a great area… and I could tell that it had once been lovely… but it’s showing signs of age: stains, cracks, and water that just doesn’t get hot enough. The room configuration was awkward with not nearly enough storage space. And, while the bed was comfortable, the pillows were lifeless, flat, and floppy…and the comforter much (!!!) too heavy. It was more like a weighted blanket than something for sleeping. I could barely pull it up or down (and I work out 4 days a week… I’m no weakling). The gym was good. The staff was helpful. Sadly though, I’ll check out someplace else next time I’m in Sarasota."

"The property is centrally located for a visit to Sarasota. We had the junior suite which was spacious and comfortable. The pool and fitness center are very nice. The facility is definitely outdated and nothing “special”, although they try to dress it up with colorful decor. The maid service was subpar, they never came on day one and didn’t come until late afternoon day 2. Neither day did we receive new towels. Remaining staff were all very friendly. It wasn’t a bad stay, but we will likely try a different hotel next time simply because we know there are better in the area. "

"Beginning the day before we arrived, the staff was so attentive. They accommodated my last minute request for a dinner reservation, and the location for our room. We stayed on the upper level of the Tiki Tower. Room was spacious. Housekeeping great. We would have loved a balcony, but we booked late and only Tiki Tower rooms were available. The motel style entrance was different from what we’re used to, but it worked out fine. Easy access to pool, lobby, Tiki Bar, and beach. Pool area had plenty of chairs, and excellent food/beverage service. Lots of umbrellas for shade too. Music was even great! Beach was lovely, but there was a large pipe running the length of the beach. So you can’t see the water from the beach chairs. You can still walk over the pipe to the shoreline. Beautiful sunset views and dolphins too. We ate at Tiki Bar and Drift - both excellent. The live music at the beach near Tiki Bar was fun too. The shuttle to and from St Armand’s was also super convenient. "
