"Paradise at a value price"
We have been coming to Bermuda for 35 years. We have stayed in a variety of hotels. This was our third stay at the Surf Side. We came for our honeymoon in 1980, stayed here again in 1985 and again this past week. We were pleasantly surprised when they upgraded us from the room we paid for to a private cottage right on the water (when I say that, we are at the top of the cliffs above the beach). The view astonishing, it was quiet and the room nice. Understand that Bermuda is paradise. We don't stay in the room much, but this cottage had a private kitchen, so we went to the Modern Mart and bought groceries, and thus cooked some quick meals in the room, which saved money and allowed us to enjoy the lovely scenery. When we stayed in the 80's the place was pristeen. Since then, the maintenance is lacking. You will see peeling paint, handrails in deterioration, and some open electrical boxes, but overall a good value on the south shore beaches, which is where you want to be. We'll be staying here again, I'm sure.

While the service of the main components of the hotel were good, we had a few surprises. First, there was a $10/day/pp charge for cleaning, eventhough we never had the room cleaned, only required new towels. Second, it was required for us to purchase $50 Griffin Dollars/pp. Griffin's is a restaurant on the premise ... food is good, service very slow and they do not open for breakfast.

"We Can Share The Wine"
I cannot say enough about the experience my wife and I had at The Royal Palms Hotel. The staff could not have been any nicer or more helpful. The room was spacious and nicely decorated. The grounds were immaculate, with plenty of places to sit and relax. The pool is a great place to just kick back for a while. The buildings were all in great condition, with comfortable seating areas in the rooms off the main lobby. The breakfast was very nice. But what made this experience even better was the wine hour -- just having the opportunity to sit around after either a sun-filled day at the beach or a busy day of touring and talk with other guests. After four days, we had probably talked to three quarters of the people staying at the hotel, and we exchanged ideas of where to go and what to do. The hotel fostered these relationships, and we felt like we were part of a family. I am not a beach person, so the fact that the hotel was not on a beach (and we knew that well before we went there) was not an issue at all. We loved walking to Hamilton, and we probably did that about seven or eight times over the four days, including going to the gym in town. While we were there, we thought about whether there were any negatives about The Royal Palms, and we could not find any.

What a great place to stay in Bermuda. Small Inn with great views of the bay and city. The staff is really great especially Andy and Alex. Both were very accommodating and provided knowledgeable information about places to eat and see. Thank you both for a great vacation!

Bermuda is one of only two archipelagos on the 32nd parallel. The climate is nothing short of dreamy, and hurricanes rarely strike it head-on, making Bermuda a stunning destination you won’t want to leave!

    A Unique Climate

Want a tropical vacation that’s a little closer to home? Oceanfront Bermuda hotels are situated just east of South Carolina, but because they also lie in the Gulf Stream, the climate is humid and subtropical. That means highs in the summer rarely exceed 30 degrees Celsius and hardly ever fall below 10 degrees Celsius, even in the coldest winters. This climate produces a host of beautiful tropical flora, like mangrove marshes and coconut palms. Hurricane season is from June until November, making Bermuda the perfect snowbird escape during the winter. Enjoy Bermuda’s perfect weather at hotels in Bermuda on the beach.

    Bermuda Hotel Packages and Attractions

Can’t wait to start your Bermuda vacation? We don’t blame you. No matter what you like to do, you’ll find it here. Visit Horseshoe Bay Beach, the most photographed beach in Bermuda, for sandy fun and stunning views. To learn about the area’s history, check out Historic St. George. There’s also Bermuda Aquarium, Museum, and Zoo for kids of all ages and Port Royal Golf Club for grown-ups. And, of course, you can’t miss the world-famous Crystal and Fantasy Caves to experience Bermuda’s incredible natural wonders.
