« We take a vacation with my husband’s sister, her husband, their children and grandchildren every year. They are from the low country coast so they like going to the mountains for the cooler weather and low humidity. The location and layout of this house was perfect for our family. Everything was clean and ready for us upon arrival. The location is private, the views are spectacular but it is convenient to stores and shopping. We plan on booking again for next year’s vacation. »

« The Read Retreat was a perfect little cabin with all the “essentials!” It is “UP” the mountain on a few twisty roads but, it’s not a bad drive at all and is in a good location to surrounding areas. We had lots of deer sightings and one black bear as well! I would highly recommend the Read Retreat! »

As previous reviews have mentioned, the host - Jeremy - was prompt with information about the stay and readily available for questions. The location was great in that it is approximately half way between Boone and Banner Elk with a winery located just down the hill. A great choice if you plan on visiting the area. »
