"Our room in OYO Hotel in St. Helen's, OR, was very basic. It was clean and the beds were adequate. The floor had paint spills all over it and the walls had some holes and peeling paint. There was a large refrigerator. The staff member at check-in was VERY nice and funny. Unfortunately, he had to ask everyone for a CASH damage deposit since their system for holding deposits was not working with credit cards. We did not have the amount he was asking for, but he accepted $40. We thought this might be some sort of scam, but we got our $40 back in the morning. All-in-all, this stay was a mixed bad. I don't think I would choose this site again."

"My room was clean, comfortable, and exactly what I needed for a work stay. What really stood out, though, was how accommodating the staff was. I’m a night shift nurse working 7 PM to 7 AM, and getting proper rest during the day is essential. I asked about a late checkout so I could sleep after my shift, and they were more than willing to accommodate me—at no extra cost. That level of understanding made a huge difference. The front desk staff was kind, respectful, and mindful of my schedule. I wasn’t disturbed while sleeping, and the entire experience felt considerate and professional. It’s not always easy to find a place that understands the needs of night shift workers, but this hotel absolutely did. I will definitely be staying here again and highly recommend it to anyone working unconventional hours who needs a place that truly respects your rest."
