"PROS: 1. The room was immaculate. 2. Access to DC and College Park was so convenient. 3. The waffle maker machine made great waffles. 4. I could park right outside of my room. CONS: 1. The continental breakfast was almost non-existent. Aside from the waffles, there was almost nothing else to eat. Not well-stocked and you had to track down a staff member to get items. 2. Staff speaks limited / no English. 3. The plexiglass barrier in the front lobby was annoying and the person at the registration desk was barely audible when discussing check-in. 4. I realized why the plexiglass barrier is there; there can be occasional street folk who are not hotel guests coming in for shelter / free food. I encountered one in the lobby who was high, aggressive, and ended up wrecking the continental breakfast when he was denied food. Prince George's County's finest was called and it took 4 cops to subdue this individual in the parking lot, along with ambulance and a firetruck present. 5. There is a burned out car in the parking lot. Adds to the the inner city aesthetic. All kidding aside, this is a minimally safe place to stay. I left nothing in my room when I left in the AM, and I left nothing in my parked vehicle when I arrived back in the evening. The staff were gentle and almost invisible. The person at the front desk was well-meaning and a kind guy, but no match for bad folk who trespass."

"One star is too much for this horror. My room felt like a glorified walk-in closet, totally drab and depressing. White sheet and blanket, bare walls. I felt like a priest staying at a seminary. Until I looked at the bed. Then I felt even worse. There was a bedbug, right in the middle of the mattress. I had arrived late and there was no one there. No other rooms taken, no manager. I was simply left the front door key and the room key. After seeing the bedbug (dead, at least), I felt I had no choice but to take an Uber to my son's house and sleep on the couch. When I wrote the owner/manager the next day and asked for my money back, the response was, "How do I know that you did not bring it with you.""

"Went to DC with our family and stayed at the Arlo (kids excited to swim in the rooftop pool). While very stylish and great location, there were some things worth pointing out: 1) the beds are very firm. My husband and I travel frequently for work, and these beds became uncomfortable by the 2nd night, 2) although the AC worked great and was quiet, the bathroom had no vent and room started to feel like air was not circulating. So, it started to smell musty and stale, and 3) sadly, the cool rooftop pool was very small - a strange mix of slightly long and narrow. Wish I loved it more! The style was awesome and the food/drinks were great."

"Perfect location to Union Market and metro red line. The room was clean and very quiet being in the city. Very odd though that all mirrors were in the bathroom. One cannot not get makeup ready, if the bathroom was occupied. Check in staff said we got free breakfast as a random pick. She never entered the info in the computer. We got tired of telling other staff about said breakfast. Overall staff were friendly and helpful. Except a very unhappy bistro cashier the whole time we were there."

"The location to get to the sites is awesome, take it with a grain of sand. New York Avenue is still sketchy=graffiti on the adjacent building. The roof top bar/restaurant is very nice, great staff, food above average and then of course the prices. The hotel location is a very good value overall BUT 2 things I gotta warn folks about: Parking, only a few spaces at the hotel, I got the last one, They told me parking in the garage was $60, SURPRISE !!! Parking at the hotel was $45, something I would have factored into my stay. Our room was tiny. There was only enough room for the 2 single beds and not much else and the view was dismal. Staff was great."
