"Old World Charm in San Diego"
I have stayed in a number of hotels in San Diego, but the US Grant is somewhat of a sleeping giant. I felt relaxed as soon as I entered. During the day I went back and forth from a nearby Marriott where I was attending a conference. I couldn't wait to get back to the quiet and relaxed atmosphere. The carpets in the hallways were in need of replacement, but the quality and size of the rooms more than made up for it. The food in the restaurant was excellent!

"Great location to the Gaslamp Quarter"
My wife and I attended the San Diego Black Film Festival, locally screening films at the Reading Cinemas in the Gaslamp Quarter. The Keating Hotel made our stay even very comfortable.

Very friendly and helpful staff. I didn't eat at the hotel but that's only because of the many nearby offerings. Nice place!

"Downtown Elegance!"
Arriving at 5:30 p.m. we were greeted with a wonderful valet. She told us exactly the cost and very reasonable parking fee, since we were downtown. Our room had 10 foot ceilings, and the continental breakfast (free) was super sweet. How many people do you know can eat on top of the largest skyscraper (1917 circa)? We were upgraded and had a fridge, microwave, and extra large room.

"Very nice hotel to explore downtown"
We took AMTRAK from LA for a performance of the San Diego Opera and a weekend of exploring San Diego's downtown. We could walk to the Sofia from the Santa Fe Depot and to all the restaurants in the Gaslamp District. Our room wasn't ready for early check-in so the manager offered an up-grade to a suite to accommodate us and spent time going over a map and giving us lots of places to see and eat (including Currant which is in the hotel and very popular). The rest of the staff was just as friendly and the suite was wonderful with a sitting room and good mattress. We had a great weekend and plan to return and stay at the Sofia again.

"Really well located hotel in downtown San Diego"
Spent 4 nights there recently. The main factors in choosing this hotel were its location (really excellent, close to the harbour front, AMTRAK station, Trolley & buses) & it's good value price. All the staff were very helpful, & the room was large & comfortable. Only minor blemish is that the magnetic card used to enter the room didn't work very well, so one had to nearly always try it several times before actually entering the room. Overall, though, would definitely stay here again.

"Perfect Mix and Right Price. Best Value Hotel"
I've always been impressed with Kimpton Hotels. They're the perfect mix of quality, comfort, location, cost, and trendiness. The hotel is right smack in the middle of the San Diego Gas Lamp District, the staff we're super welcoming and helpful, and the room was very clean and modern with a touch of class. It was pretty nice when we came into our room to find a personal handwritten note from Sandra, who cleaned our room. The also have a legit events for guests (i.e. free coffe/tea in the morning, a nice lunch special, and a great happy hour). They also have a great restaurant/bar in the hotel, which almost makes it unnecessary to leave to find something to do. While I didn't get to take advantage of their Summer Salt Pool, but I've been there before and it's a great scene during the day and at night.

"Perfect location"
This hotel is in the perfect location if you're looking for a fun night at the bars. Just went this weekend for a bachelorette party and was soooo happy with this hotel. The suite was the perfect size for a bunch of girls to get ready. The rooftop is fun to have a couple drinks and relax. And Everywhere (bars and clubs) worth going to is in walking distance! The restaurant attached to the hotel was really good too! When I come back to San Diego, I will definitely be staying here. Enrique, Cydney, and Jarret were awesome to us! They were all so helpful and wanted us to have a great experience.
