Before I even got to my room I was stuck on the elevator…the doors on the vintage lift are super heavy and only one elevator was working so it was a wait every time (it wouldn’t be bad if I wasn’t on the 9th floor) the queen hotel room is extremely tiny, you can’t even open your luggage without it hitting the wall, but didn’t matter as much bc I unpacked and was able to tuck my luggage next to the AC. Apart from that staff is great, restaurant/bar was too as well as the food. I’m all for aesthetic stays and historical elements, but the cleanliness was not up to par. There was hair left in the shower, scratched up walls, and some kind of smell in the room upon arrival. Aside from that, the bed was super comfy and sheets were crisp and clean (thank goodness). Unfortunately the little things like slight stains on the robes, towels, and shower curtain will make you feel quite uncomfortable on a vacation. Wouldn’t recommend for those of us who are used to luxury, but nice if you need a quick stay and won’t be in the hotel too much. Side note: there are hardly any windows in the rooms so you may feel claustrophobic. Not the type of hotel you stay in for long periods of time. But the lobby and diner were beautifully decorated and we still had a lovely time, staff was kind! Fun for a quick trip, it’ll do the trick.
