"Very Central as the title of the hotel suggests!"
Staff & overall service very good - roof top a real winner if the weather is good. We probably could have done with booking restaurants etc a little more in advance, as most recommended were booked same day. Food in the hotel stood up had a nice lunch.
Our room was at the front of the hotel the traffic noise was consistently loud throughout the night, so if your booking a room get one facing the courtyard, we could not be bother to move room, but probably should have. If we were going back to Barcelona we would stay at the Grand Central again, but box a bit cleverer with the choice of room.
Warm welcome, friendly and efficient service without being obtrusive. A haven of tranquility in the midst of a noisy bustling city. The location is superb for visiting everything that Barcelona has to offer.
Hotel Bagues had very modern & clean rooms. We found everything we needed (slippers, bathrobes, hairdryer, complimentary water bottle). The view from the rooftop is lovely, and the 'pool' (although tiny) is a nice way to cool off and enjoy some sun. The hotel staff were beyond helpful from restaurant recommendations to booking sightseeing tickets and information regarding the airport shuttle bus. We were able to comfortably walk to plenty of shopping and also down to the waterfront (about 15 min). The food in the restaurant is good (enjoyed at a 30% discount for hotel guests), but quite pricey nonetheless - I would suggest walking a few streets off La Ramblas for any meals. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I stayed here for four nights in July 15 with my family. We enjoyed its prime location and facilities of the apartment. Most importantly the staff was very helpful in all respects.
This is located near La Rambla. There is no restaurant in hotel but there are many shops and cafes around it. The metro, Liceu is less than 10 minutes walk from the hotel.
The staff particularly Luciano, Fran and Xabi were very helpful for any problem or query and in guiding the local visits and trips around the city.
we just spent a night but it was everything we needed clean, quite and relaxing. The decor is above a four star, the restaurant is great, and their is even a pool on the roof. What more could you ask for, the subway is also right outside the door
Hotel location was perfect. Just on the edge of the hustle and bustle, but only a block away from the major transit pick-up and drop off locations. We were able to walk to most activities and plenty of great restaurants surround the hotel. In fact the wood fire pizza restaurant is right next door +++++
The hotel was very modern and in a great location, close to all the famous sites in Barcelona as well as a walkable distance to the beach. The hop-on/hop-off bus stop was right outside the hotel which made it very convenient to see sites this way. Breakfast was delicious every morning and the wi-fi was speedy and always working.

Barcelona's Old Town, the Ciutat Vella takes in the Barri Gòtic and the world-famous promenade of Las Ramblas. The former is the city's medieval core, a maze of atmospheric alleyways clustered around the splendid Gothic Cathedral. Quirky specialist shops and characterful bars and eateries abound. Don't miss the Museu Picasso and the Museu d'Història de la Ciutat, as much for their palatial settings as their content.
