“Great location”
Very handy for las ramblas and the marina area. Good restaurants not far from the hotel. Hotel very clean - liked the funky design and the great view from the roof terrace. Staff are helpful too.
“Fantastic hotel as a base to explore Barcelona”
Great hotel for couples. We were on 8th floor and could watch the sunrise over the city through the wall-to-wall floor-to-ceiling window. The sunsets from the 11th floor bar and viewing deck were equally fabulous. The room provided everything we needed, including a good tea/coffee maker, hair dryer and an ipod dock radio alarm - good sound insulation between the rooms meant we couldn't hear anyone else's either. The mood lighting was complimented by the modernistic clean lines. With tiled flooring, clean sheets and towels - changed daily - the whole package exceeded our expectations. A beautiful city and a fantastic hotel - a lovely weekend break.
“Set the bar”
I rarely stay in modern, stylish hotels because they are too expensive. However, the Barcelo Raval had a sale and I jumped on it. I have to say, it set the bar for my future hotel stays. Here's a quick list of the things that stood out... Awesome:: - Superb panoramic view on roof (with bar) - Free wifi! - Comes with several amenities in addition to soap and shampoo, such as a comb, a razor (with shaving cream) and a toothbrush/toothpaste - Has an iHome which plays your iPod (though it didn't charge mine, some voltage issue) - Sink area has an outlet that takes both European and US plugs - Cable TV - Shower has a ceiling rainfall setting and a handheld showerhead - Hotel workers were super friendly and helpful - Location is great - 5 minute walk to La Ramblas; about 15 minutes to the port area or Christopher Columbus statue Not as awesome - Pool on roof is very small. I had expected something I could swim in, but this was more for sitting in. However, the ocean is within walking distance so no big whoop. - Surrounding area is slightly shady, but it's still safe and the restaurants here are far better than the tourist traps on La Rambla - Room could've had better lighting, it was a little dark at night - Can't open the window, but this must be for safety reasons As you can see, the pros outweigh the cons. If you are traveling to Barcelona - stay here!
“tres design j'ai adoré”
tres bien
“Very Clean, Fantastic Shower, Short Walk to Ramblas”
The Barcelo Raval is a new hotel with a pretty funky decor. The shower, as others described is not for the faint of heart. The shower is used as a room divider - the bed side is obscured glass and the bath side is clear. No nasty shower curtain. The shower stall is very spacious with an overhead shower spout but also a body spray, if desired. The bath area also had a sliding mirrored door that would slide between the toilet compartment and the closet area. The room, hallways and lobby area were kept very clean. The hotel staff were all pleasant and helpful. The view from the terrace was fantastic and they have some free viewing scopes on the roof. The only negative was too little counter areas. The closet area had only one shelf on which to set a piece of luggage with the hanging rack directly above. Below the shelf were two small drawers and the room safe. There were no other folding luggage stands available. In general there was not a lot of counter available to set stuff. There was a small area behind the sink to set toiletries but the night stands were both relatively small. The desk consisted of a pole which ran from floor to ceiling onto which the TV was mounted. Below the pole was an oval shaped desk area which we found to be inadequate. The bed was very comfortable and the towels were large and fluffy. They have two computers in the lobby available for guests. Unless you are a woman traveling alone, don't be put off by the neighborhood.
“Hôtel Barcelo Raval”
Hôtel ideallement situé, proche des Ramblas. Tres belle décoration, très design. Personnel très agréable. Le petit déjeuner est extra !!! Seul point négatif : une climatisation un peu bruyante. Sinon rien a dire, séjour fantastique ....
“Great views, top location.”
A new hotel located in the El Raval area near to Las Ramblas - an area that has undergone extensive regeneration to shake of its former red-light & drugs reputation. The height of the hotel means that the rooms facing the open space of the road and the top floors have amazing views. The interior design is quirky and contemporary. While the round shape of the hotel means that none of the rooms excepting the suites are massive, the clever way that the bathroom has been incorporated into the room with a sliding door and a shaped washbasin unit means that it feels bigger than had the bathrooms been walled off. Not for the shy or sharing though as the shower cubicle is not fully private from the bedroom side! Fantastic floor to ceiling window lets in the great view. Some might not like looking through the fine metal mesh cage that covers the building entirely. Sounds works than it is though. Down-side was the funky pink headboard lighting that could not be switched off along with most of the room lights, leaving only a small reading light. Otherwise you have to watch TV bathed in strange pink light, or even worse, green in other rooms. Helpful staff and great breakfast. Comfy bed, spotlessly clean. Not cheap but the location is really fantastic. Not for fans of minimalism!

Ciutat Vella, Barcelona, Spain: Barcelona's Old Town, the Ciutat Vella takes in the Barri Gòtic and the world-famous promenade of Las Ramblas. The former is the city's medieval core, a maze of atmospheric alleyways clustered around the splendid Gothic Cathedral. Quirky specialist shops and characterful bars and eateries abound. Don't miss the Museu Picasso and the Museu d'Història de la Ciutat, as much for their palatial settings as their content.
