Sand Island Yoga Vacations

It was a great place for a budget friendly vacationer. The gym was very small and works for one to two people. If you want a gym don’t come here. Our door to the room was made of wood and was extremely hard to open and it was very loud when closed or opened because of the humidity and warping. Most rooms didn’t seem to be as bad as ours (rm #612). Pool was cool but not heated and it is more a lounging pool than a fun pool. No hot tubs even though it looks like there might be. Water filling stations were excellent by the pool and in the lobby. Parking was terrible. Even the paid parking was limited. We parked on the street but you need to pay the meter. The hotel was in a great spot to go walking around the town for food at night

Island Colony was a great place to stay overall. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-stocked with cookware, toiletries, towels, and even beach chairs and a backpack cooler. I loved the patio view and enjoyed relaxing out there. The pool, hot tub and sauna were clean and relaxing, and security felt solid. The only downside was parking -- the kiosk instructions are confusing, and you have to use separate elevators for the garage and rooms. Definitely ask staff for help the first time. I'd stay again, I truly enjoyed the room and its amenities. Very convenient location. Parking isn't the owners fault -- just something to be aware of. Parking is definitely cheaper if you go for the 5 days. $235/5 days vs $47/nightly. 4/5 Wonderful Room

The hotel is solid with cleanliness, food options, bar selection of drinks, and a polite staff. The location is ideal to venture out to bars, restaurants, and retail shopping. I would definitely come back.

Use the pool and chill by the outside patio. It’s a beautiful view of the beach.

The food was extraordianry and the grounds beautiful. Unfortunately flooding and rain had taken pout the AC. So we cut our stay short. They were very accommodation and I would recommend.

Staff is wonderful. There are no free amenities. Parking, beach chairs, etc cost extra. They do offer water filling stations and beach towels. Restaurants are expensive but service is good. Beach access easy and crowded. No good snorkeling there but many beaches you can drive or bus to.

The food in the restaurants are very expensive . The credit of $250 Tha Expedia gave us was not taken in all restaurants…

As Oahu's short-term rental ban took effect in 2025, Paradise Bay came up as an option. We booked the Ohana suite in March 2026 after the storms had subsided. Paradise Bay is a decent, quiet alternative away from HNL and Waikiki. On the positive side: the room was nice; the staff was accommodating and friendly; the suite looked out to the deck which was inviting in the morning and dusk; there was warm banana bread and hot coffee in their reception area every morning; beds were comfy and large; On the negative side: The resort is on a steep hill, so if you have mobility issues, it could be a problem navigating the property (staff helpfully drove my 86-year-old mother down the steep hill in their golf cart, which was nice); parking is limited and that can pose an issue sometimes especially when it rains; the staff's preferred method of communication is email, which seemed odd but it was responsive when our cable went out and we needed someone to come over and troubleshoot. Overall the room was was clean but there were visible signs of wear in the screens, the kitchen cabinets, and the toilet paper holder was coming off the wall (promptly fixed by maintenance). I had to request dish soap for the sink. The sliding door rails were littered with insects. Not mad, it's an island environment -- that's just the way it is. Paradise Bay is fine to stay at, the views are wonderful. Just keep in mind it's not a 4-5 star resort by any stretch.

A bit dated room but good location. Amenities are great and beach access was very close.

I had corner unit so I overlooked at Bay great firework show on Friday night from Balcony loud cruisers in evening with blaring music heard all the way up to 16th floor not in properties control, Shopping Ala Moana mall almost attached convenient bridge to walk across with out have to cross streets
