Free breakfast. Cool vibe. Rooms are small but very comfortable. Right on the main shopping street and at a bus stop for both tour buses and the FlyBus. Very convenient.

Great location and superior accommodations. The front desk person was very good at providing us with a room for an additional 2 nights at the peak of the season.

The configuration is unlike anything else I have seen. It is a series of houses/apartments across the town that are rented out as hotel rooms. Ours was a 5 minute walk from the main desk. The house looked more like a B&B than a hotel. The room was awesome with a living room, two TVs, kitchenette, bathroom and a king size bed. I would definitely stay here again.

Things we wish had been communicated: there is no parking nearby and the parking system is different here so a guide to the closest overnight parking would have been ver helpful especially because you can’t just drop off luggage and your party at the door because it’s a pedestrian street where the front door is. Also, it was not disclosed until we got into our room that there’s a live band that lays at the restaurant downstairs late into the night. Foam ear plugs were provided, but that definitely was not going to drown out that noise. The front bedroom desperately needs blackout curtains! The blinds left big gaps and were broken in places during full daylight night. There was also construction right in front of our building with a scaffolding and banging on our windows in the morning. Would’ve been nice to have a heads up for that. Otherwise we lived the location, spacious apartment, easy communication with codes to enter.

The room was beautifully appointed and very clean. We opted for the Sapphire suite with access to the hot tub. (side note- this is advertised as being private, but it is on a shared balcony with no dividers). We also chose to include breakfast and that was wonderful. There were many hot and cold food options and a good variety of beverages as well. Great offering especially when traveling with kids. You should absolutely visit the spa if you get a chance. It was the best way to end our trip. I was absolutely impressed by the kindness of the staff- Anna at the front desk and Robert with maintenance in particular. Anna did everything she could to assure we had a wonderful stay and Robert was incredibly kind and helpful. They really made the stay exceptional for us. I would ultimately return because of them. You can stay at a nice hotel anywhere, but the staff is what makes this place stand out. Thank you so much for that.

We ended our month-long vacation at the Reykjavík Edition. The location was excellent — right downtown on the harbour and within easy walking distance of the city. The room itself was compact, with only one chair, though the bathroom was spacious and well designed. Unfortunately, the room temperature was a constant issue. The in-floor heating had apparently been set to 25°C, and because of the radiant system, it took until our third day before the room became comfortable, even with the window open. Housekeeping service was inconsistent, generally arriving very late in the afternoon. On our final full day, our room was skipped entirely because we were in the room from 2–4 PM, despite being out from 8 AM until 2 PM. On departure day, the hotel’s systems were down. Although we had been told a late checkout would likely be possible, staff were unable to confirm anything, so we had to leave at the regular checkout time. I also have yet to receive my detailed invoice. Dining was mixed. Our first experience at the Michelin-starred restaurant was unfortunately the worst meal and service experience of our trip. However, we returned later for lunch and had a completely different — and very enjoyable — experience. Overall, while the property has an outstanding location and some strong features, the experience did not justify the premium pricing.

Super friendly staff, location was convenient and close to downtown. Rooms were clean and washroom was a good size. We stayed in the family suite which was located on the first floor (main floor was 2nd). The wifi was not working on the first floor but did work on main and 3rd floor. Rooms do not have a telephone if you need room service, so you'll need to go to front desk to get help.
